U.S. officials crafting retaliatory actions against China over coronavirus as President Trump fumes

Source: Washington Post

The president has in recent days told aides and others that China has to pay for the outbreak and publicly floated demanding billions in compensation

Senior U.S. officials are beginning to explore proposals for punishing or demanding financial compensation from China for its handling of the coronavirus pandemic, according to four senior administration officials with knowledge of internal planning.

The move could splinter already strained relations between the two superpowers at a perilous moment for the global economy.

Senior officials across multiple government agencies are expected to meet Thursday to begin mapping out a strategy for seeking retaliatory measures against China, two people with knowledge of the meeting said, speaking on the condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to disclose the planning. Officials in American intelligence agencies are also involved in the effort.

President Trump has fumed to aides and others in recent days about China, blaming the country for withholding information about the virus, and has discussed enacting dramatic measures that would probably lead to retaliation by Beijing, these people said.

They might decide it’s time to drop the dollar as the world’s reserve currency (which props up its value).

It could be even worse than that, but that’s something that might actually bother the big-money players in the USA.

1) Sequenced the c-19 genome in late November of early December.

2) They turned that information over to the W.H.O. and they passed that information onto
German scientists who used it to make a very good test for the disease and Trump refused
to use that test and now we are in a world of hurt.

Both Trump and Kushner knew of C-19 in November of 2019 and what did they do to help
get the country ready for the coming Pandemic? They invested in Hydroxycholorquine and
their own C-!9 test kits so they could make money from the disease.

Trump and Kushner also sent 18 tons of PPE to China in Feb. and that PPE equipment would
have protected Drs, nurses, and 1st responders form getting sick and in some cases dying from
C-19.

On Jan. 3, Dr. Gao Fu, head of China’s disease control agency, informed his U.S. counterpart, Dr. Robert Redfield, director of the CDC, in an emotional telephone call that the outbreak was growing out of control, according to the same federal official and a former NSC official. Both said they had been informed of the details.

The CDC, a part of HHS, confirmed to Reuters that it learned of an outbreak in late December and that the call with Gao occurred Jan. 3.

to let things go, despite a desire to "get even." We teach our children this stuff. Unfortunately for us, we have a juvenile pRes who won't listen and can't be reasoned with.

He'll keep on until he has our economy broken beyond repair. Just look at everything that we import from China. "Made in China." There are many people who think that we have too much dependency on China, but we made that decision years ago, and we can't just decide to not pay our debts, nor can we decide to not import anything from China.

We need a well reasoned effort for adjustment. I think that no one is fooled anymore by Trump and his histrionics that he uses to distract us
from the fact that he effed up and is continuing to eff up. This is all over the election and our determination that he needs to go, along with his idiot advisors and sycophants.

All I would gently discuss with the Chinese is what are they going to do to curb those open air markets. Because there is so much that we do not understand about this virus and what is going on with it, we cannot know all there is to know about that bio lab. We just can't. And Trump's bluster, his threats, and desire to blame the Chinese won't fly with other adults who are busy legitimately fighting a world pandemic.

Oh, I am so tired of Trump. So tired of this crap. Can we please get a divorce from him? Please? Please? Let's pay him to go away. Him and all his friends. Let's make an exception, a one-off Fuck You, and offer to pay him to disappear.

Everyone has a price. What's his? Someone ask him.
