US endures worst one-day death toll yet as states reopen

Source: The Hill

The U.S. saw its largest one-day death toll from the coronavirus pandemic to date on Thursday, as several states began to reopen parts of their economies.

According to data from the World Health Organization, 2,909 U.S. residents died on Thursday, shattering the previous record of 2,471 deaths that were reported on April 23.

State leaders around the country continued to see protests from demonstrators who want to reopen the economy and return to their jobs. Demonstrations took place in California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Tennessee and Washington on Friday. Many demonstrators believe that stay-at-home orders are impinging on their constitutional rights and freedoms.

Data compiled by the WHO is different from the data compiled by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as the CDC hasn't historically reported daily deaths from the pandemic. “CDC does not know the exact number of COVID-19 illnesses, hospitalizations, and deaths for a variety of reasons,” the government agency said.

The CDC has also noted it might not have a more accurate death toll until December 2021.

And what did he and Kush-turd do when they learned about the coming C-19
pandemic? They looked on how to make money on it by:

* Producing their own coronavirus test kit.

* Promoting and selling hydroxychloorine C-19 "cure all."

* Sending/selling 18 tons of PPE to China in Feb. of 2020.

This is high treason - and LOW treason.

Once one realizes this is how they saw the incoming crisis - as a crass opportunity for power and profit - one can no longer put anything past these miscreants.

Anywhere with either a) a right-wing regime that kisses his orange butt; or b) with a well-heeled government to whom he is billions in hock.

The fact that anyone who was known to be deeply in debt to any foreign government was allowed to take office, should've been out of the question.

But Wall Street liked him, so here we are.

https://www.propublica.org/article/a-medical-worker-describes--terrifying-lung-failure-from-covid19-even-in-his-young-patients
... The ventilator should have been doing the work of breathing but he was still gasping for air, moving his mouth, moving his body, struggling. We had to restrain him. With all the coronavirus patients, we’ve had to restrain them. They really hyperventilate, really struggle to breathe. When you’re in that mindstate of struggling to breathe and delirious with fever, you don’t know when someone is trying to help you, so you’ll try to rip the breathing tube out because you feel it is choking you, but you are drowning.

one or two people from ending up in this situation, then I will be very gratified. I know it's affected how much risk I'm willing to take. Not just for myself, but for others I might infect.

Too many people assume they will be pretty much knocked out with drugs, so won't be that bad, ... may not be a good assumption.

The Hill does not do the most reliable reporting. It seems they picked up a story from CNBC and retooled it for their site. Has anyone else come across the 2900 figure for any day this week?

12. "demonstrators who want to reopen the economy and return to their jobs"
Sun May 3, 2020, 01:07 AM

This piece, like those in almost all other news outlets, makes this same mistake. These "demonstrations" are just thinly-disguised trump campaign rallies. Sometimes the "demonstrators" forget to follow the rules in the handouts they get ahead of time and carry various forms of maga signs anyway.

In fact, I saw a piece on the news and a couple of those tools (one guy, one woman) said they took the day off to attend because "freedom" or something.
They TOOK THE DAY OFF! To make a political point, not because they needed the economy to reopen for survival.
