Lincoln Project has its biggest day of fundraising after president attacks 'Never Trump' group
Source: CNBC
The Lincoln Project, which is run by Republican operatives who oppose President Donald Trump, raised $1 million after the president ripped the group on Twitter this week marking it the super PACs biggest day of fundraising yet.
Reed Galen, a member of the Lincoln Projects advisory committee, told CNBC that the total came after the presidents Tuesday morning Twitter tirade in reaction to an ad titled Mourning in America, which unloads on Trumps response to the coronavirus pandemic. It recently aired on Fox News, which Trump often watches and praises. Galen said it was the Lincoln Projects best single-day fundraising haul.

The Lincoln Projects big fundraising day in the wake of Trumps tweets could be the financial boost it needs to keep pumping out more anti-Trump ads. It finished the first quarter raising $1.9 million and has just more than $1.2 million on hand. Their top donors include Walmart heir Christy Walton and Silicon Valley executive Ron Conway, records show.

(34,403 posts)Mourning in America has been on MSNBC several times when I have been watching, in addition to the times that hosts have played it as part of their shows.

(31,893 posts)There are 6 other 1-minute ads they've done prior to "Mourning in America", plus some longer content.

(7,715 posts)Will hear it as "Morning"....I was waiting for them to make the contrast between the homonyms "mourning" and "morning", but didn't see it.

(10,098 posts)I'll bet they don't even remember the original "Morning in America" ad, and couldn't spell "mourning" if their lives depended on it. It's a great political ad, but such subtleties are lost on these idiots.

(5,721 posts)These ads don't just point out that the Titanic is sinking. They're establishing that its captain has been, and still is, incompetent and derelict. As more and more redhats suffer, and some die, Donny will continue to point in every direction but this campaign will remind them of his utter failure. Dictators and cult leaders throughout history maintained to the bitter end some small fraction of their once-great loyal armies, but their ends were still bitter.

Sadly, though, too many of us need every penny of that payment just to survive. A drop in the bucket for some of them.

Not to diminish what has happened to families and friends that
lost a loved one due to Covid-19, but Covidiot-45 is a greater danger.

Somebody has to keep their eyes on what he is doing. Trump actually makes it easy, he brags about all the shit he fucks up on Twitter.

(37,154 posts)We have the the people. We've seen posts here showing great ads for candidates around the country over the last few election cycles. Can someone with connections and resources organize that? Maybe the billionaires that ran for the presidential nomination? Or boost the profile and resources for any less-visible groups that already are?
Why is this messaging effectively being outsourced to some of the same Republicans who spent their careers creating a Republican base that would just love a guy like Trump?

Maybe they all have info that the election is already rigged and they would just be throwing their money away.....
The RepubliCONS have been acting like they're not worried about an election as they continue with their corrupt crap every day........why is that? Because they know the fix is in, and don't want to waste the next six months pretending that they are concerned about the election.......??????????
