Bob Kerrey vs. Karl Rove.
Kerrey, the former Nebraska governor considering a run for his old U.S. Senate seat, already is exchanging political barbs with Republicans.
Kerrey invited Rove to work out and then dine on a burger at Kerrey's family-owned restaurants and his family-owned gym in Nebraska, an apparent slap back at a Rove-founded political action committee that accused Kerrey of being a carpetbagger.
Kerrey, who has lived in New York City for 11 years, is on a five-day trip to Nebraska this week, talking to old friends and others about returning to the state and mounting a Senate bid.
