Protester who hoisted Gov. Andy Beshear effigy fired from job at Neil Huffman Auto Group

Source: courier journal

Sarah Ladd,10:43 a.m. ET May 27, 2020 | Updated 11:26 a.m. ET May 27, 2020

The protester who hoisted an effigy of Gov. Andy Beshear from a tree at the Kentucky State Capitol has been fired from his job at an auto dealer.

Terry Bush, president of the Kentucky 3 Percenters group, was fired by Neil Huffman Auto Group on Tuesday, his wife Patsy Bush confirmed on Wednesday morning.

The auto dealer had announced Tuesday evening that it had terminated an unnamed employee who was involved in the protest Sunday where the effigy was hanged, saying it did not "condone threats of violence in any form."

Terry Bush has not responded to a request for comment left with his wife.

Patsy Bush is the state secretary of the Kentucky 3 Percenters and was also present at the protest in Frankfort.

Everyone should be fired from their jobs for otherwise legal personal time speech. What’s that saying? They came for the socialists and I did not speak out because I wasn’t a socialist... Let’s just ruin everyone we don’t agree with. That’s a sure way to keep the right-thinkers safe.

WTAF? How did he think we wouldn't get fired? A public-facing business can't afford that kind of taint.

Stemming from any entity, apart from the Government (and in rare cases not even the Government).

Looks like Mr. Bush is getting a fast lesson in this important principle.

Not to worry though, I'm sure Auto Sales are booming and he'll have another job lickety-split.

I doubt anyone knows how many people belong to these groups, but they all seem to be anti-government and mostly racist organizations. They’re the ones Trump will call on to create violent conditions when he loses in November. I hope the FBI knows who they are, though of course Bill Barr will refuse to let the FBA do anything about planning for their likely election violence.

....and as for " the freedom to speak on his own time ", it's not the state who's "oppressing" him. It's another private citizen who thinks he's bad for business. He probably is. I wouldn't buy a toaster from the jackass. But he's free to seek employment elsewhere. I'm sure there's more than enough reich wingers in KY who'd be happy to hire Mr. Effigy.
