Seattle protesters break windows, clash with police in rallies sparked by death of George Floyd
Source: Seattle Times
Crowds protesting the death of George Floyd broke windows on numerous businesses and clashed with police during a demonstration that began Friday evening and stretched into early Saturday morning in downtown Seattle.
Police reported making several arrests as the demonstrators wound through downtown streets, smashing windows and hurling debris and fireworks at officers. No serious injuries were reported.
The demonstration began around 7 p.m. at Hing Hay Park in Seattles Chinatown International District with protesters speaking out against police brutality in the first of several planned demonstrations this weekend, all sparked by the death of George Floyd during his arrest in Minneapolis.
The group then started marching toward downtown Seattle, chanting Black Lives Matter and George Floyd, who died after a Minneapolis police officer pressed his knee into his neck for several minutes during an arrest Monday.

(26,281 posts)excuse to cause violence.
Doesn't matter if its the far right nutjobs that might try something stupid or if its people rioting and burning and breaking into homes and businesses.
I mean, feel free to protest over something you perceive to be an injustice people and demand action but do not cross over the line into rioting and looting and also do not try to incite others (like Trump enjoys doing) to use violence.

(26,281 posts)Had they not done things like dismantle the action plan Obama had setup for such situations and also been more proactive in doing a nationwide lockdown for 3 to 4 weeks right away the virus might have not gotten such a strong foothold and we would be over it by now.
