In new book, former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen describes alleged episodes of racism

Source: Washington Post

President Trump’s longtime lawyer and personal fixer, Michael Cohen, alleges in a new book that Trump made “overt and covert attempts to get Russia to interfere in the 2016 election” and that the future commander in chief was also well aware of Cohen’s hush-money payoff to adult-film star Stormy Daniels during that campaign.

In the book, “Disloyal: A Memoir,” which was obtained by The Washington Post ahead of its Tuesday publication date, Cohen lays out an alarming portrait of the constellation of characters orbiting around Trump, likening the arrangement to the mafia and calling himself “one of Trump’s bad guys.” He describes the president, meanwhile, as “a cheat, a liar, a fraud, a bully, a racist, a predator, a con man.”

The memoir also describes episodes of Trump’s alleged racism and his “hatred and contempt” of his predecessor, Barack Obama, the nation’s only African American president.

After South African President Nelson Mandela died in 2013, Trump said he did not think Mandela “was a real leader — not the kind he respected,” Cohen writes.

Instead, Cohen writes that Trump praised the country’s apartheid-era White rule, saying: “Mandela f---ed the whole country up. Now it’s a s---hole. F--- Mandela. He was no leader.”

Cohen writes that before winning the presidency, Trump held a meeting at Trump Tower with prominent evangelical leaders, where they laid their hands on him in prayer. Afterward, Trump allegedly said: “Can you believe that bulls--t? Can you believe people believe that bulls--t?”

He wasn't a "real leader", probably because he didn't benefit materially for his efforts.

Between the Atlantic article about Trump's derisive attitude toward the military and Cohen's book, I think this could be the end of Trump, but he's survived so many "last straws" before, I am cautious in my optimism.

Hard to believe how much he has survived. Meanwhile, he does seem to be more thin-skinned than usual. Eventually every turd has to flush or at least fall apart.

On Russia, Cohen writes that the cause behind Trump’s admiration of Russian President Vladimir Putin is simpler than many of his critics assume. Above all, he writes, Trump loves money — and he wrongly identified Putin as “the richest man in the world by a multiple.”

Trump loved Putin, Cohen wrote, because the Russian leader had the ability “to take over an entire nation and run it like it was his personal company — like the Trump Organization, in fact.”

According to Cohen, Trump’s sycophantic praise of the Russian leader during the 2016 campaign began as a way to suck up and ensure access to the oligarch’s money after he lost the election. But he claims Trump came to understand that Putin’s hatred of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, dating to her support for the 2011 protest movement in Russia, could also help Trump amass more power in the United States.
Cohen asserts that another reason that Trump consistently praised Putin was to fulfill his long-held desire to slap his name on a proposed Trump Tower project in Moscow.

Trump used racist language and hatred for Obama.

This is the true "white supremacy,' to look at this good family and this good man and think he has the right to give them contempt, though he is so much lesser a human being, yet because he is white, he thinks he has the right be "be supreme."

Not that only exemplars of achievement and kindness like the Obamas should be immune to racism! Everyone should be.

But I do think with Trump it shows how much "white supremacy" has to do with inferiority. Trump is as much as admitting that all his sense of being better and more deserving has nothing at all to do with goodness or talent or worth or even the respect due to all people...

All he's got is "I'm white."

And obviously for 44% of our citizens, that's all he needs.

Lock him up.

Also managed to inflate assets to bankers (and provide corrupt benefits like trips 'n free party) and then deplete the same assets to defraud the public Treasury multiple times.

why his base is unshakable.

He fights for the idea, which America was largely built on, that the mediocre white person is supreme. Remember most of them don't even like educated/smart whites who they view as elites. They love Trump because he soothes their white fragility and resentment.

They hired a black man to play the part of “Faux-Bama”, who would sit there and be ritualistically berated by Trump and humiliated, with Trump firing him at the end. The sad part is that this was the least surprising thing I’d heard about Trump.
The man just loves hearing, “how low and awful can you get?” and seeing it as a challenge.

the video is online, and it was basically showing trump as host of the apprentice, where he was shown listing a bunch of business qualities and saying Obama did not have them.
Seeing it now, of course, it shows that trump had no inkling of any presidential qualities.

video was not used, it is said, (probably because it is a real lousy production quality)
