Florida reports 98 new coronavirus deaths; toll hits 12,600

Source: Orlando Sentinel

As bars statewide prepare to reopen at half-capacity Monday, the impact of coronavirus on Florida continued Saturday with 3,190 new cases and 98 new fatalities reported by the health department.

To date, 661,571 people have been infected, and 12,600 Florida residents have died due to COVID-19. With 156 non-resident deaths, the combined toll is 12,756.

Each report includes deaths from several previous days, as it can take two weeks or more for fatalities to be logged. The largest increase of fatalities in a daily report occurred one month ago, with 276 deaths reported on Aug. 11.

We are playing high school and college football, masks are rarely seen, social distancing is getting lip service only, bars are opening Monday. People have become bored with the whole virus thing so we are going to follow Trump's lead and ignore the virus away. When the virus hangover hits after the Winter Holidays we are going to get a spanking of biblical proportions.

DiSantis will need to start making the Fox News rounds for congratulations quickly before the cases and deaths start to mount up.
