Opposition leader Alexei Navalny shared a photograph from his Berlin hospital bed on Tuesday, marking the first time he has spoken publicly since he was allegedly poisoned last month with a Soviet-era nerve agent.
The image, posted on social media, features the 44-year-old Kremlin critic surrounded by his grinning wife and two children. He was initially hospitalized at a Siberian medical facility after he became suddenly ill during a domestic flight in Russia from Tomsk to Moscow.
Navalnys team immediately claimed he was poisoned due to his stance against President Vladimir Putin allegations the Russian government has repeatedly denied.
Hi, this is Navalny. Im missing you. I still can hardly do anything, but yesterday I could breathe the whole day on my own. Completely on my own, he wrote in the post.

Like everything, the White House response has been a mess with aides offering the pro forma condemnations of the poisoning while Trump himself has been casting doubt.

President Trump on Friday cast doubt on the consensus from Germany that leading Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny was poisoned in an assassination attempt in Siberia, saying he is waiting to review the evidence.
We havent had any proof yet, Trump said during a briefing at the White House.
I would be very angry if thats the case, so well take a look at the numbers and the documents, because were going to be sent a lot of documents over the next few days, he added.
The presidents remarks came hours after NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said there is proof beyond doubt that Navalny was poisoned with the Novichok nerve agent. The NATO head called it a violation of international law that required an international response.
