More than half of states are reporting more new coronavirus cases as the US nears 200,000 deaths

Source: CNN

(CNN)The United States is closing in on the somber milestone of 200,000 deaths from Covid-19 as more than half of states are reporting a rise in cases.

The climb comes after many states had seen case numbers decline following a summer resurgence of infections.

Among the states reporting more new cases in the last seven days are Wisconsin, Idaho, South Dakota, Iowa and Kansas, all of which are also reporting test positivity rates above 15%.

The test positivity rate is the percentage of all tests given that come back positive for coronavirus.

With the Trump administration once again trying to treat the pandemic as over and once again trying to muzzle scientists, is it a surprise that cases are increasing even as the number of tests have gone down.

Drove from Central Mexico to Portland/Vancouver, WA; and that’s exactly what I observed. Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. You could easily see how seriously they took the Covid. In Wichita, it was rare to see a mask. In Idaho and Texas, 50-50 at best....Utah and Oklahoma about the same.

They will pay for their blatant stupidity....and keep the Covid in their communities. Ignorant cult lemmings.

...regarding the Supreme Court vacancy to distract from thousands of Americans dying each month. Trump is probably just disappointed that it is not limited to Democratic states and minorities.

Why is CNN and other news sources always saying we are "approaching" a number when we have data showing that horrid milestone was reached long ago?
