Parson, his wife both test positive for COVID-19; governor postpones travel, debate

Source: St Louis Post-Dispatch

JEFFERSON CITY — Gov. Mike Parson postponed an event in St. Louis Wednesday and a debate on Friday after First Lady Teresa Parson tested positive for COVID-19. Later Wednesday, in a brief recorded statement, Parson said he also tested positive, but was awaiting the results of a second test to confirm that result.

“Myself and the first lady are both fine,” Parson said. “I was tested, those results, the preliminary results has come back as a positive test.... Right now, I feel fine — no symptoms of any kind.”

Parson has consistently refused to order a statewide mask mandate. I pray he will change his stance.

Needless deaths and it didn’t have to be this bad.

I work a part time in a job where we move seniors from their homes into assisted living and in the last two months we have been able to go in to move in a new residents or move a resident from self care to mother memory unit. I feel so sorry for the residents who haven’t been able to see their family members and they will come up to talk with me because they want to talk to someone who is not a caregiver.

He was in the memory care wing. I was able to speak with him on the phone a few times a week and am grateful for that. All the staff was wonderful but I could tell they were swamped. I accepted that he wasn't going to live a long time. It's his dying alone, with no family there that makes it so hard to bear.
No one deserves that.

a couple years ago... and I did that over a month ago. I'm at the point where I'll either read what is going on (newspapers/news sites) or will turn on the local news radio station for about 90 minutes in the morning and 90 minutes in the evening. And even then, I'm yelling at the computer and radio (and it gets turned off if 45 starts talking).

Not die, just have to be on life support with a ventilator for awhile. Or one of their family members even. I see no change in attitude from these Trumpaholic governors and R leaders that get the virus. Because they all usually get mild symptoms or no symptoms, and it only feeds the Trump narrative that its "no big deal".
