Tillis Echoes Conspiracy Theory on Pandemic Deaths

Source: Political Wire

Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) told a virtual town hall audience that he believed the 200,000 deaths attributed to COVID-19 in the U.S. had been inflated in order to “encourage people to use social distancing.”

He claimed the actual death count was much lower.

red and blue states all over the nation have shown large numbers of cases and deaths.
If it's manipulation, than all those red states are in on it.
That includes his home state of North Carolina where there have been over 200,000 confirmed cases and, as of today, 3356 fatalities.

Not to mention Texas and Florida where their combine total is nearly 29,000 deaths. Abbott and DeSantis must be inflating their numbers.

What is with that guy? Oh, I forgot, he's a Republican. That explains the dumb statement.

I don't discount all conspiracy theories, because well, people conspire to do all sorts of shyte.
But this one, like most RW nut job conspiracy theories, can't even sustain a full twist of the pretzel.
So all these people and institutions and governments went to all this trouble and risk to fake a pandemic to do this necessary thing.
Ok, and so now that people are socially distancing to some extent amid 200K+ deaths, the conspirators arrive at what devilish end?
