Third Driver Plows Car Through Crowd of Black Lives Matter Protesters in California

For the third time in one week, a driver Saturday afternoon plowed through a crowd of Black Lives Matter protesters in California, injuring at least one person.

A group of demonstrators calling for justice for Breonna Taylor were marching along Imperial Highway in Yorba Linda when they were confronted by counter-protesters, according to local news. During the incident, a white sedan drove through the crowd of Black Lives Matter protesters. One man was seen bleeding from the knee in photos shared to social media.

The incident came after two separate drivers attempted to run through different crowds of protesters earlier this week in Hollywood.

Protesters gathered at around 7 p.m. on Thursday night local time at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery on Santa Monica Boulevard after the decision not to indict police officers on criminal charges directly related to the killing of Taylor. Two hours later, a black SUV was seen driving against traffic toward the crowd. The vehicle then accelerated and rammed into the group, before quickly speeding away.

It might not be easy logistically- it would be ideal if some protesters slowly drove cars to block would-be car attackers.

As you likely know, I'm no fan of the police and what that system has become.
But, releasing people is what cops do when a DA or SA tells them to.
Even if cops do wish they could do it (and plenty probably do) it's not the reason the guy was released.

All of these drivers, knowingly entering a crowd of pedestrians (protesting or not), should be charged. But the cops should be blocking the roads a block ahead, a block behind, and on all side streets entering the path of the marchers. I don't know how BLM would feel having a protective police presence escorting them, however.

A woman was arrested Saturday on suspicion of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon after driving her car into a crowd during a demonstration in Yorba Linda involving protesters against police brutality and counter-demonstrators, authorities said.

Two people were injured in the incident, according to Sgt. Dennis Breckner of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

One man suffered two broken legs and was hospitalized and one woman suffered major and moderate injuries throughout her body, he said.

The driver of the vehicle was not identified.
