Source: ABC
Former campaign manager for Donald Trump, Brad Parscale, who was replaced by the President less than four month until Novembers vote was reportedly armed with a gun and threatening to harm himself at his Fort Lauderdale home on Sunday afternoon.
Police have not confirmed that Parscale worked for Trump, but records confirm that the property in Fort Lauderdale is owned by Parscale and Local 10 has spoken to neighbors who also said it was the former advisor to the President.

(7,627 posts)who is armed and barricaded with suicidal thoughts. We all know what would have happened. Apparently Parscale was admitted into an hospital without getting shot.

(11,085 posts)What did they really do with that billion dollar war chest? Did some of it get secretly redirected to non-campaign purposes? That would be what everybody but Mitch McConnell's Senate and William Barr's Department of Justice would call a crime.

(867 posts)Am I the only one who immediately thought about the African American gentleman in NY whose brother called police to find him, a truck driver saw him and called the police? He was in the street, buck naked, in the cold with light snow, mentally deranged and the police couldn't bother to wrap him in a blanket let alone not MURDER him. Parscale is in his locked room armed to the teeth and taken into custody without incident. Why? Because Parscale was seen as a fellow human being in mental distress and treated accordingly. The black gentleman was seen and treated worse than an animal.
That's why BLM!

(101,295 posts)His wife had called police to say he had multiple firearms and was threatening to harm himself at their home in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday.
However, police said he was alone in the house at the time and officers had managed to negotiate with him to leave the property.
Mr Parscale was taken to hospital under the state's Baker Act, which allows anyone believed to be a threat to themselves or others to be detained for 72 hours for psychiatric evaluation.

Trump fans were not pleased by Brad Parscale's treatment by the Fort Lauderdale police. But the wild card was the significant presence of firearms in the home, ten (10) of which the police removed. Parscale's wife advised the police that her husband had loaded the chambers of one of his firearms in her presence; Parscale had also assaulted his wife earlier in the week -- she had visible bruising; that he was suicidal. Mrs. Parscale had actually fled her home and ran to a neighbor's house for help. Under those circumstances, the police could not assume that Parscale wasn't armed when he finally came out of the house. Better the wrestling to the ground than the "suicide by cop" if Parscale had a spare firearm on him. The entire incident is tragic and sad.
if he were a poor man, or a homeless vet, or a POC, he would have been shot to death. You know that's true.
