Source: Huffington Post
Joe Bidens presidential campaign swiftly released a new ad and merchandise Sunday following the publication of an explosive New York Times investigation into President Donald Trumps tax avoidance.

Within hours of the articles publication, Bidens team released an ad contrasting Trumps meager payments with typical amounts contributed by American taxpayers.
The campaign websites fundraising store was also updated to include I paid more income taxes than Donald Trump vinyl stickers.

Shock of shocks! Donald Trump, the self-proclaimed billionaire, received a $72.9 million tax refund from the IRS while not paying a nickel in federal income taxes in 10 out of 15 years, tweeted Sen. (14,165 posts)They will LOVE that Trump was "smart" enough to foil the evil Big Gob'mint taxmen. And will laugh at the "libtard" wearing a button bragging that Trump outfoiled them into paying more into the wasteful government swamp than their Dear Leader.

(14,165 posts)Before the right had gone way off into crazy land, as Jon Stewart said.
By 2016, when there were hints that Trump had avoided paying taxes you got this from his sycophants:

Theres no one whos shown more genius in their way to maneuver around the tax code, Christie said on Fox News Sunday, reports Politico.
On CNNs State of the Union, Giuliani agreed with him: The headline should have been, Donald Trump takes advantage of legal provisions in tax code.
In fact, both blamed any of Trumps interactions with the tax code on the tax code itself. Christie went as far as to suggest that Trumps behavior illuminates the mess that the tax code is right now, and Trumps experience with that mess means he is the person best positioned to clean it up.
And his voting supporters?:

All that matters, all that will ever matter to the MAGA faithful, is "owning the libs."
If Trump's tax returns showed even a hint that he's a successful (or even modestly competent) businessman, then gone in an instant is all the snarking that he's just a reality TV-created cipher who'd still be hawking reheated pizzas if Mark Burnett created "The Apprentice."
But when the tax returns showed that Trump is mostly good at one thing losing money his supporters pivoted to the "beat the system" explanation. To the MAGAlomaniacs, his legal avoidance of taxes is proof of his "very stable genius."
