UPDATE 10/9/2020 @ 11:00 a.m.

WILLIAMSON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Williamson Police tell WSAZ the shooting victim underwent surgery and is expected to be okay. The criminal complaint lists the suspect as Amy Thorn, but WSAZ has confirmed that Amy is also known as Amy Johnson and Amy Ford.

Records obtained through the West Virginia Board of Registered Nurses indicate that Amy Jolene Johnson has been a registered nurse since at least 2003.

WSAZ spoke to Amy Ford earlier this year when she traveled to NYC to work during the pandemic.

Ford was also recognized at the Republican Convention in August.

According to a criminal complaint, Amy Thorn, 39, shot Jonda Whitt near 841 Vinson street in Williamson.

Thorn is charged with malicious wounding.

This POS, like the McCloskeys, spoke at the fascist convention in August. Going to go out on a limb and assume the yokel shot her victim over the drug dealer they were both sleeping with.

WILLIAMSON — A Williamson nurse who received national recognition earlier this year for her decision to travel to New York to help treat COVID-19 patients has been charged in a shooting Thursday that sent another woman to the hospital.

Amy Jolene Thorn, 39, was arrested by the Williamson Police Department and charged with malicious wounding in the incident that happened during an argument on Vinson Street on the evening of Oct. 8, according to a criminal complaint filed in Mingo County Magistrate Court.

According to Williamson Police, Thorn and the victim were in an argument at 841 Vinson St. when Thorn went to her vehicle, retrieved a handgun, and shot the other woman in the abdomen.

The victim was taken to ARH Hospital in South Williamson, Kentucky, and then air-lifted to Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky, where she underwent surgery.

. . .

Thorn, who also goes by her maiden name Amy Ford, was lauded by politicians this spring when she left her family behind to travel to Brooklyn, New York, for three weeks and treat COVID-19 patients. A video she made about her experience and what she saw on the frontlines went viral in mid-April.

I suspect this is just a placeholder so they can lock her up. That Ford went back to her car to get her gun before returning and shooting Whitt is going to result in some very serious charges at some point. No "heat of the moment" or "self-defense" defense for Ford. And whose gun was it?

what I want to know is, what were they fighting about in the first place? A man? (not worth it) Another woman? (also not worth it) A football game? (seriously not worth it) Money? (now you're talking) Drugs? (this is really mess up your life territory)
I'm sure it will all come out at trial.
