Congress Will Get Its Second QAnon Supporter, As Boebert Wins Colorado House Seat

Source: Forbes

TOPLINE Republican Lauren Boebert won her House race in Colorado, the Associated Press projects, making her the second congressional candidate to win election this year who has openly supported the fringe conspiracy theory QAnon.

Boebert won her race for Colorado’s third congressional district over Democratic challenger and former member of the Colorado House of Representatives Diane Mitsch Bush.

The Colorado Republican has previously said she had hopes that “Q”—the anonymous leader of the fringe movement—”is real”—she has since attempted to distance herself from the conspiracy theory.

Georgia Republican and QAnon supporter Marjorie Taylor Greene also won her House race in Georgia on Tuesday, the Associated Press projected.

Wouldn't surprise me if they form a QAnon Caucus.

but on the Front Range, not the Western Slope. We were in a bar near Steamboat Springs about 20 years ago, and I engaged the bartender in conversation. He was wearing the full-on fake cowboy outfit. I thought I heard something in his voice that was familiar, so I asked him where he was from. He said he was a fourth-generation Colorado cowboy whose family owned a ranch "just a piece down the road."

"Funny," I said. "You sound like you're from Maryland."

Turns out he was a Marylander who'd just moved to Colorado, so he thought the whole fake cowboy thing would get him tips from stupid tourists. My wife's family is from Maryland, so I know that B-more accent. There's no hiding it behind a big hat.

"Despite her pistol-packing rural Western persona, Boebert grew up in a working-class suburb of Denver,..."

https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2020/09/13/lauren-boebert-congress-409983

And according to Wikipedia, "Boebert was born in Altamonte Springs, Florida in 1986. When she was 12 years old, Boebert moved with her family to the Montbello neighborhood of Denver and later to Aurora, Colorado, before settling in Rifle, Colorado, in 2003."

It turns out, that the already-far-right Republican Party, and its fringe-right Freedom Caucus, now have members to the extreme right of them.

How does “The Gibbering Batshit Insane Caucus sound for these people?

From early on in the pandemic someone said:

Containing the virus depends on two things: 1) how dense the population is, & 2) how dense the population is.

Oh, and he looks so ridiculous with that hat... does he even realize it? (Probably wearing it for the same reason my father did... hide that bald spot!)

Her campaign made it seem like God-fearin', gun-totin', hearth-huggin', and flag-wavin', no-abortions-allowed would save them from a "big city liberal" who would take all their hard-earned dollars and spend 'em to help heathens, ingrates, and lazy welfare recipients. And in the process, she could use her gun to chase off all the Hollywood pedophiles!

Yeah. "Salt of the earth." Right.

Oh - yes - and God save fracking.

The law and order candidate has had a few run-ins with the law herself.

"Congressional candidate Lauren Boebert — who often espouses a pro-police, law-and-order message on the campaign trail — has been arrested and summonsed at least four times over the past decade, records show."
