Here's what we know about a potential recount in Georgia

Source: Boston Globe

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger told reporters Friday that the state will likely head to a recount due to the small margin between former Vice President Joe Biden and President Trump. Biden pulled ahead in the state by a narrow margin of just over 1,500 votes by noon Friday with less than 5,000 ballots left to be counted in the state.

“With a margin that small there will be a recount in Georgia,” said Raffensperger, a Republican.

He added: “The final tally in Georgia at this point has huge implications for the entire country. The stakes are high and emotions are high on all sides. We will not let those debates distract us from our work. We will get it right, and we will defend the integrity of our elections.”

Gabriel Sterling, an official with the secretary of state’s office, said that a pool of 4,169 ballots — most of them absentee ballots — remained to be counted in four countries: Gwinnett, Cobb, Cherokee and Floyd. The largest batch to be counted was in Gwinnett County, which contains Atlanta suburban communities and has gone from Republican-leaning to Democratic-leaning in recent years.

Senate runoffs for the GA seat because no candidate got 50% or more; GA Presidential is winner take all, regardless of margin.

on this one. How many registration applications, how many denied, how many ballots issued, how many returned, how many denied. Any computerized voting accounting data. Mail-in ballots left at the P.O. Even if it went the other way, it would be worth it if something could be learned about how we as a country run elections.

So, let them recount and announce that Biden is the winner later. He will already have won, anyhow.

Figures don’t lie buy lies sure figure. That’s the good old boys motto. Let’s hope not anymore. I moved to that Atlanta north side 40 years ago from Miami . But original from Detroit area.

Newt Gingrich started all the mean spirited behavior in polities about the time I arrived in Ga. No single person is more responsible for the sad state of affairs that the GOP is in today. He alone came up with this mode of operation. He is such a POS. Someday history will pull the curtain back on this ass hat from GA. We wouldn’t have had a trump if it wasn’t for him and his misguided rules of the road. Tear your opponent down and lie lie lie. That’s his playbook. I’d like to punch that fat dough boy in the freakin face if I ever cross paths with him. Actually look forward to such a day. Later have a nice post election week.

When election results are within a certain margin of difference, like 1 or 2 percent, recounts are automatic.

Personally, I think the orange banana and his minion of fruit flies are about to do some crazy shit.

And, you can take THAT to the bank.

ETA: I apologize to ALL oranges, bananas and fruit flies for the insult.
