Pompeo hasn't recognized Biden as president-elect but is about to travel to 7 countries that have
Source: Business Insider
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is departing Friday on a 10-day journey that will take him to seven different countries.
Pompeo has not recognized President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris as the winners of the 2020 election as President Donald Trump continues to reject the results and push baseless allegations.
The leaders in all of the countries Pompeo is poised to visit have congratulated Biden on his victory in the 2020 election, highlighting the awkward, isolated position the Trump administration is currently in with the president refusing to concede.
Though the president and top Republicans have refused to accept the results of the 2020 election, the world has already begun to move on from the Trump era.

(86,536 posts)very different kind of reception than he anticipates. Hopefully they'll tell him to that his criminal activities and shove them where the sun don't shine.
Now that he is irrelevant in foreign affairs, they may well tell him to take a flying fuck at a rolling donut.

(808 posts)... since the countries are Turkey, Georgia, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and France (well, maybe France would!). More likely, plotting something nefarious that will be bad for Biden, Democrats, & the U.S. I don't trust this guy AT ALL.

(25,816 posts)What country could take him seriously, even before the election? With a boss like trump,
Pompeo's word and bargaining power was very suspect. Now that trump has lost the election
and many nations have already accepted Biden as the new POTUS, Pompeo will just be a nuisance.
Like when someone comes to your house and you groan, "Oh no, not him again."

(808 posts)I was curious as to which countries he was going to, so I googled it. The countries are: France, Turkey, Georgia, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.
Interesting that Pompeo is going to these countries that have been reliably pro-Trump or that Trump has conflicts of interests in (except France). Makes you wonder if he included France to throw people off as to what he is plotting with the heads of these other countries. Why is he going to these countries now?
