Zuckerberg says Bannon has not violated enough policies for suspension: recording
Source: Reuters
PALO ALTO (Reuters) - Facebook FB.O Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg told an all-staff meeting on Thursday that former Trump White House adviser Steve Bannon had not violated enough of the company's policies to justify his suspension, according to a recording heard by Reuters.
We have specific rules around how many times you need to violate certain policies before we will deactivate your account completely, Zuckerberg said. While the offenses here, I think, came close to crossing that line, they clearly did not cross the line.
Bannon suggested in a video last week that FBI Director Christopher Wray and government infectious diseases expert Anthony Fauci should be beheaded, saying they had been disloyal to U.S. President Donald Trump, who last week lost his re-election bid.
Facebook removed the video but left up Bannons page. The company had not previously answered questions about those actions and did not immediately respond to a Reuters request about Zuckerbergs comments.

What's the point of Facebook if you got no face? Fuckerberg.

(1,041 posts)This is why it is not even good for you in the long run to have no kind of conscience and to get by solely on scheming, calculation, "winning" and crassness.
Trump does the same thing..only without any higher level processes-I am not sure Trump has conscious processes. This fools his nutty base into thinking he is "real" whereas they see more clearly through people like Mitt Romney (who has a positive genius for saying the quasi-right thing well after it has ceased to matter),Jared Kushner, Nikki Haley etc. These people are tied with Trump in amorality but they are (more) capable of conscious reasoning and so they seem more cunning/mercenary. Whereas Trump gets by on some sort of unconscious cunning, while being mercenary and amoral.
We all have unconscious processes that are probably self serving. You should try to make some sort of effort to at least actively throw them out. This virtue of selfishness crap is getting a bit old. It isn't a bad thing to have some disinterested processes ongoing inside your head. They are very grounding provided you are not in a state of panic induced by nutjobs. Or you can end up like this amoral jerk.

(6,373 posts)He can't be serious. He must have been threatened by someone.
It wasn't just beheading that was promoted. The other guy, on the tape with his voice, advocated HANGING people, to which Bannon agreed. Bannon stated that it would keep people in line.
These are public officials that they recommend to be executed. So, what are Bannon's standards? Zuckerberg is utterly despicable.
Bannon should be arrested for violating bail and rejailed. This wasn't chit chat at a local bar. This was a public broadcast advocating executions of government officials.
So, I ask again, what are the standards? To me, there aren't any. Do we really need FB?
I don't think Mark has a brain in his head, at this point. Someone threatened him.

(18,886 posts)match people with the same hateful traits to the most hateful stories - true or not - I think Zuck is responsible for much of the world's ills right now. I'd love to see Facebook and Zuckerberg smashed to smithereens, incinerated, ground into a fine dust, then mixed with Bannon's putrid piss and have it poured down Donald Trump's throat.
Am I being too harsh there? I am? Alright, just Facebook then, but Zuckerberg has to watch.

Goddam, it sounds like he would have cut Hitler some slack for running death camps.
Maybe Zuckerberg should be banned from owning Facebook.
