Biden to Campaign in Georgia for Warnock and Ossoff in Runoff Elections Deciding Control of Senate

Source: Newsweek

President-elect Joe Biden will join the lineup of influential Democrats involved in Georgia's ongoing senatorial campaigns, according to his recently-named forthcoming chief of staff.

Ron Klain—who will formally step into the role when become Biden assumes office in January—discussed the outcomes of Georgia's two runoff elections, and how they could affect the next administration's political agenda, during an appearance on NBC News' Meet the Press Sunday morning. Klain previously served as Biden's chief of staff between 2009 and 2011, during his vice presidency under Barack Obama.

"We're going to work hard to win those Senate seats in Georgia," Klain told Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd.

"I think you'll see the president-elect campaign down there as we get closer to Election Day," he continued. "We're going to put people, money, resources down there to help our two good candidates win. I'm very hopeful that we can win those seats."

A Democrat winning there is never guaranteed. I would rate our side as underdogs right now. I really hope I'm wrong.

usually don't bother to vote. Stacy worked sosme magic in her get out the vote campaign for the General, and proved to the Dems thaat if they vote, they can win! I think, since they now know they can win TWO Senate seats, along with all the Dems Stars coming here & Stacy working her magic again, we aren't guaranteed win, but surely not the underdogs!

That said, I am not sure that the Republicans will turnout well this time without Trump on the ballot.

It will be close, but I am cautiously optimistic that we can pull them both. I am counting on Trump-depression.

We had a primary runoff in July and very few voted.

In 2012 there was a 7 way primary on the Republican ticket. The top two were Ted Cruz and Lt Governor David Dewhurst who was by all accounts a decent guy.
Well it went to a runoff and of course no body voted. Turnout was dismal and Cruz won that primary. If more folks had voted in that runoff, we would not have had Cruz.

And the rest is history.

It would be nice if Republicans won't show up for this run-off, but the Democrats will be out in full
force with Biden, other top Democrats, and Stacey pushing the way.

Bold, but I guess since he won't have taken office yet there's little downside. Sitting presidents usually shy from specific races.

For those who can afford it, please give! These races will determine how effective Joe Biden and Kamala Harris can be!
