City of El Paso hires legal counsel to help collect Trump campaign's outstanding debt

Source: KTSM TV

The City of El Paso is taking further steps in attempts of collecting over half a million dollars that’s owed by the Trump campaign from a rally that took place almost two years ago.

It’s almost the end of November and with obstacles throughout the year due to COVID-19, the City has been waiting since February of last year on money that’s been owed from the Trump campaign.

“We all are seeing firsthand the struggles that everyday El Paso families have in addition to the challenges that we have in our own budget,” City Rep. Peter Svarzbein said during Tuesday’s council meeting, “So this amount of money is not inconsequential and also the message that we send that nobody is above the law is also an important one for our community to understand as well.”

But they will have to get a court to declare that it is a personal debt, not a debt by the campaign. The campaign isn’t getting the pension, he is. So only debts that he personally is responsible for can be subject of garnishment.

I don't think so anyways.

I'm sure his attitude is 'look my being there made you 5 times what this bill says, you should just suck it up El Paso, you came out AHEAD because my awesome rally was the greatest thing that ever happened to your shithole town, thousands of people flew in from around the country and the world, booked weeklong stays at your hotels, came to eat in your restaurants, drank in your bars ... and you want to send ME a bill? I should be billing you!'

No security, no cop overtime, no public venues available.
If I was the mayor of El Paso, I would have demanded money up front. Failing that, I wouldn't lift a finger.
Let the SS provide all of the security. Good luck with traffic.

Both sides need to be separated and protected.

OF course, we know which side needs the most protection from abuses of the other side.

If it wasn't for Antifa, both sides would just get along. (Yes Martha, its sarcasm).

The coward Doturd, knowing no police would be available, would cancel the event IMMEDIATELY.
City wins, didn't spend any money, no super spreader event.

You've got to play hardball with the anti-American TRAITOROUS SCUM.

And you know he's pulled this shit EVERYWHERE, because he could while he was POTUS. Nobody could say 'No, your campaign can't come here', or 'You know what screw you we're not providing protection if you come'.

He could just make all these cities eat the cost for his visits and they couldn't do shit about it. So that's exactly what he did. Cause he's 'smart' like that. Only losers and suckers pay their bills if they don't absolutely have to.

But that, friends, is about to end.

Which is one of many reasons why he HAS to the grift going.

That sumbish is famous for never paying his bills. His lawyers will delay the proceedings until he is dead and the spoils from the campaign fundraising he's going to do until that happy day arrives will have been stolen, er, disbursed to the crooks he's got running things. There will be no way to recoup a dime since his personal fortune is separate and will be greatly diminished because lawyers are smart enough to get paid first, in his case.

I think he owes money in every state in the country.

His usual tactic is to bankrupt his opponent. That probably doesn't work if you are bankrupt yourself though
