Gingrich to release tax returns, challenges Romney

http://content.usatoday.com/communities/onpolitics/post/2012/01/newt-gingrich-tax-returns-mitt-romney-/1

Newt Gingrich said today he'll release his income tax returns this week and challenged GOP front-runner Mitt Romney to do the same.

"The country deserves accountability and transparency," Gingrich said on NBC's Meet the Press. "I'm going to try to set the example to provide the leadership to do the right thing."

Gingrich said he'll release his tax returns on Thursday, two days before South Carolina's presidential primary.

Andrea Saul, a Romney spokeswoman, said the former Massachusetts governor's campaign will "look at the question of releasing tax returns during the next tax filing season."

The fix is in with Romney since almost all repug voters will vote as the moneyed interests tell them to. But that doesn't mean that we can't have any fun in the meantime.

Romney can't release his tax returns. First of all he probably has some off-shore accounts from which he pays no taxes. When he left Bain in 96, he left himself a nice golden parachute. He still gets millions from Bain even though he hasn't worked there in 14 years. It's embarrassing on several fronts. He only pays 15% tax on that money. When you leave a job how much do you get? In the real world most people get nothing, but Mitt gets millions. He is pretending to be a man of the people. This would just provide more proof about how out of touch he is from people who really have to work for a living rather than find clever ways to "game" the system.

Sorry, I mean the job creator gets a reduced tax rate as an incentive for all the jobs that he creates.

The Mormons want their 10% tithe, and if Mittens will not act honestly in any other area of life, why do we believe he will give to SLC the money they really want?

Now if he gets to be President, and has to release his tax returns, all will be forgiven, since he will have given the missionaries the best recruiting tool they have ever had. But why expose it all unless you win the brass ring?

Newt's campaign is like an undead, unkillable Political Zombie, slowly, relentlessly shuffling in your direction with its hands outstretched towards your throat.

You can keep away from the shambling, decaying political carcass just by moving a little bit, but you can never really make it stop from coming after you.

That will sure help a lot -- not.

Since we are already into this tax filing season the next tax filing season is 2013. Why are politicians always using such slippery language to make a point? Romney is basically saying "screw you" to transparency and the American people. I'm sure others will point this out as well.
