Ivanka Trump won't challenge Rubio for Senate seat in 2022
Source: The Hill
Ivanka Trump will not challenge Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) for his Senate seat in 2022, a source familiar with the matter confirmed to The Hill.
The New York Times first reported the development on Thursday, citing an unidentified source who told the newspaper that Trump was not considering a Senate bid, despite rumors that she would primary Rubio in the next election.
Marco did speak with Ivanka a few weeks ago, Nick Iacovella, a spokesman for Rubio, told the Times. Ivanka offered her support for Marcos reelection. They had a great talk.
Rubio, who was first elected by the state back in 2010. will be running for his third term in the Senate next year.

(21,988 posts)She doesn't want to have to work. Even Republican Senators have to work, usually spending vast amounts of time raising money for their re-election campaigns. It's hard work, you know. (snark)
Princess Emptyhead has seen politics and government up close and she's smart enough to know she doesn't want to go there.
Her sister-in-law, Lara, however, is too stupid to realize this. If she runs in North Carolina, she'll be eviserated.

Now maybe she's realized that she's totally not up to the task and really doesn't want that kind of work anyway, but if she sniffs any profit opportunities, watch out Marco.

(19,143 posts)Trumps have a way of "skirting the truth" (most call it lying) and I don't believe a word any of them say. She'd cut Rubio's throat quicker than you can say 'Trump'. It's the perfect ruse for giving him false confidence.

Then again, every state could use a Stacey Abrams to get people to the polls.

(43,027 posts)We tend to run candidates from business and former prosecutors and ex-military, and then rely on personal story and personality.
In my view we don't counter free-market trickle up small government incumbents very well. We need better messaging to serve the people instead of the corporations.

I seem to remember a convenient fire or some damage that made it uninhabitable. Lots of money laundering going through the Trump Org.
