Duke to require students to be vaccinated for fall semester
Source: Duke Chronicle
The policy covers all undergraduate and graduate students who intend to be on campus for any amount of time starting in the fall, and students will have to present proof of their vaccination to Student Health before enrolling. Duke will accommodate documented medical and religious exemptions.
Looking ahead, we know that widespread vaccination will be the only way to facilitate a return to normal and robust campus life, Price wrote in a message to students, faculty and staff.
Duke has offered all students and employees the opportunity to be vaccinated, Price noted. He urged those who have not yet been vaccinated to schedule appointments as soon as possible.

(852 posts)I think this list is all of private institutions, including Duke, rather than state, yes? Which then begs the question, what would be the idjit gov from that state's response? Cynical as it might be, if the "don't ask, don't tell" like COVID state policy were to result in say, adverse effects to the several Florida state university's nationally ranked athletic programs, along with the angst of their benefactors, would that finally get this SOB's attention? Even as unlikely as that might sound. Far fetched for sure, but just asking for friend. Concerned parents, particularly for out of state students, might not be quite so easily mollified given the uncertainty of the of the ongoing mutations in the virus. If nothing else, all parents want their kids to be in a safe environment.

(2,868 posts)that the Florida state schools will provide vaccinations for any student that wants it, but no mandate. Of course that was obvious with Governor "Live and Let Die" DeSantis.
