A spike in patient admissions for COVID-19 has put Florida hospitals on high alert, with Miami-Dade’s Jackson Health System announcing that it would suspend visitations at many of its facilities beginning Wednesday.
Driven by a highly contagious variant of the virus and the significant share of Floridians who remain unvaccinated, the number of new infections reported weekly by Florida’s health department has increased more than fourfold in a month, from 10,095 cases for the week ending June 17 to 45,449 on Friday.
South Florida hospitals have experienced a similar though less dramatic rise in patients with severe symptoms — pushing them to reinforce preventive measures and to prepare, once again, for a potential surge in the pandemic....

By "re-opening" the state -- i.e. lifting mask, social distancing and other preventive measures -- he is endangering ALL of us, not just the anti-vax and anti-mask idiots among us.
Case in point: my octogenerian next-door neighbor (vaccinated in February) is in a major Jacksonville hospital after breaking his hip two weeks ago. It took two trips to the ER -- spaced a week apart -- to get him CAT scanned, properly diagnosed and admitted to the hospital. His wife of 50+ years is by his side every day, trying to keep him calm and comfortable while the hospital staff try to cope with the demands that the Delta Variant create within an overwhelmed health-care system. If her "visitations" are suspended, who's going to care for him? The overworked hospital staff? Not bloody likely!
And yet, when I venture out to stores, other businesses, almost everyone -- customers and employees -- are maskless and most likely un-vaxxed.
Just hoping we all survive long enough to see Karma unfold for DeathSentence!
posse doing what they have done over these many months and the press should be treating it as so....in fact the press should have billboards up stating that this could have been preventable if it wasn't for him and that worthless right wing legislature...now that the hospital has told or said that it is going to suspend visitations, wait for the lawsuit from this malignant fucker saying other wise, just like he did against the cruise lines.....and they keep voting these fuckers into office...my empathy for the state left long time ago....because they didn't give a shit...

Surely Florida can pass another law making this kind of tyranny illegal.
