Homeland Security warns of potential conspiracy theory-fueled violence in August
Source: CNN
The Department of Homeland Security warned state and local authorities Friday about an increase in calls for violence online tied to election-related conspiracy theories, according to a law enforcement source.
In an effort to prevent online threats from manifesting in violent acts, DHS issued a public safety notification to reach law enforcement throughout the United States.
"[D]HS is providing awareness of reports regarding an increasing but modest level of activity online calling for violence in response to unsubstantiated claims of fraud related to the 2020 election and the alleged 'reinstatement' of former President Trump," the public safety notification said, according to the source.

A QAnon rally in February.
DHS warned state and local authorities that widespread belief among supporters of former President Donald Trump in conspiracy theories regarding the 2020 election - as well as in the possibility of his being "reinstated" on August 13th - might fuel political violence on or around that date.
DHS noted, however, that no information on specific plots or planned actions has emerged as yet.

(28,462 posts)It changes now and again. Of course it had Trump/Pence in 2015, but over the years it'd had such charming slogans as "Fuck your feelings, snowflakes" and lots of "Christian" gun porn. Drove by the house today and they put a new banner up: Trump/DeSantis 2024.

Simply prosecuting them will take a decade.
I wonder if Cuba would be open to extending the lease on Gitmo? It could bring in needed foreign cash and open a diplomatic door.

All we gotta do is borrow some of Armys mobile kitchen trailers, rent some porta potties, and erect fencing - preferably electrified - and were in business.

Funny how these folks seem to believe in the 'survival of the fittest,' and consider their freedom more important than our safety. They kind of missed out, though. Our species survived and thrived because we all took care of each other. Capitalist consumer culture and the primacy of the shareholder has ended that for these people. Thanks to the oligarchs.

I would just like for once to hear them say that they are preparing for this and will make sure it is being dealt with appropriately. I havent heard boo about heres what we are doing
I know, they dont want to show their cards. Well, last time they had no cards to show, they basically just watched it happen. Has anyone seen any indication that it will be different next time, or the next time, or the next time

relative to a nuclear explosion?
Or just a few thousand oath keepers dressed in paramilitary gear and armed with weapons of war?
Just asking for a little clarity, and in this context, how are we defining "modest"?
