The state health department said in a statement Wednesday that it has been having discussions with "statewide hospital leadership to discuss their challenges regarding hospital capacity."
"We monitor data reported to HHS daily and communicate closely with hospitals to ensure they have the support they need," the agency said, adding that it's working with hospitals to expedite processes to help them expand their capacity.
Integris Health System had 139 COVID-19 inpatients as of midday Wednesday.
We have no available ICU beds in our system, spokeswoman Brooke Cayot said in an email. We have two med-surg beds available at Miami. Nothing else.

Wednesday afternoon, the hospital had no ICU beds available, 38 COVID-19 inpatients, 20 patients being held in the emergency room awaiting a staffed bed to open up, and 41 open transfer requests from other facilities asking to bring a patient there.

(53,954 posts)The reason I mention this is simply because in OK, that paper, the fish wrapper version of FOX News, is well-respected, unlike the "UBER LIBERAL," Tulsa World, which while not right-wing, is certainly not uber liberal, just a better news source. This is to say, that if THAT source is printing this, it is likely to be taken as gospel and any recommendations will be gladly accepted. Fingers crossed.
The NW corner of the state, where I live, is getting hit, and while many are starting to come around, others are still stubbornly refusing to vaccinate or even mask.
