An emergency room physician who charged $50 for opt-out letters to Leon County parents who dont want their kids to wear masks in school has been removed from Capital Regional Medical Center following a social media outcry for his ouster.
As a stricter mask mandate requiring a medical excuse took hold Sunday in Florida's capital county, Dr. Brian Warden posted a notice on a statewide anti-mask site inviting Leon County parents to contact him if they need a medical exemption letter. In another post, Warden said hed provide a medical opt out letter on signed stationery for $50. Screenshots of the posts ricocheted around social media.
The recent medical school graduate had moved from Philadelphia to Tallahassee with his family to work for a physicians group that contracted with CRMC.
We act with absolute integrity in all that we do, and it is our expectation that providers behave in a way that is consistent with those values, CRMC spokeswoman Rachel Stiles said in an email Tuesday night. Immediately upon learning of this physicians actions, we began the process of removing him from providing services to our hospital patients.
The hospital's CEO Alan Keesee informed the board of trustees of the decision at their regular meeting Tuesday, she said.

This doc is clearly unethical and should be sent up before the licensing board.
I am sure he is shady in other ways too. One of his patients should contact the board and report him.

In one case (vaxers) it is scientists, doctors, and epidemiologists they are following.
In the other, it is talking heads, internet bloggers and demon sperm doctors that they are respect.
We know which are the true sheeple. Plus it fits with "livestock deworming".

Though it should be hard enough to get into med school in the first place for that not to be quite such a low bar.

Well, no wonder he failed. /sarcasm

(16,363 posts)The story calls him an "ER Doc."
His LI profile says "Medical School Student" at the top.
Under About, it says "Temple University School of Medicine Class of 2018."
Under Education, it says:
Temple University School of Medicine
Degree Name: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)
2014 2018
Further down, under Volunteer experience, we have this:
Student Organizer
Temple University School of Medicine
Nov 2014 Present * 6 yrs 10 mos
What does "2014 - Present" mean? Did he graduate from medical school in 2018 or not? Also, medical school is supposed to last 3 years. How could he be a "student organizer" for almost 7 years?
There's no actual work experience listed since 2014. IF he has graduated from medical school, wlhat's he done since then?
It may just be that he hasn't bothered to update his LI resume in several years, but if so, why not? If you graduated from medical school, wouldn't you be just bursting to put it in there? This dude seems kind of sketchy to me.

(8,910 posts)that's why I asked "Why risk your career over a measly $50?"
Every letter he wrote, he only got $50, and he risked his career for $50.
