The FBI on Thursday arrested a fan of Alex Jones' Infowars network who allegedly was near the front of the mob when DC Metropolitan police officer Daniel Hodges was crushed in a door frame in one of the more widely viewed videos from the insurrection.
Jeffrey Scott Brown, 54, of Santa Ana, California, is charged with inflicting bodily injury on officers, obstructing law enforcement during a civil disorder and engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds, according to a news release from the Department of Justice.
"According to court documents, Brown was part of the crowd entering the tunnel at the lower west terrace," the DOJ wrote. "Video footage shows him reaching through the crowd towards another rioter, who provides him with a can of spray. Brown can then be seen pointing the can towards the police defensive line and deploying the spray for several seconds in the direction of the police. Brown also participated in the pushing action against officers who were attempting to restrict access to the U.S. Capitol."

According to the DOJ's criminal complaint, Brown "was at the front of the crowd of rioters in the tunnel, participating in the pushing action against officers who were attempting to restrict access to the U.S. Capitol through the exterior door to the Lower West Terrace." ...................................

(42,655 posts)So deprived these people ... in dress, in their businesses, on the airplane ... so deprived. We're not putting enough emphasis on the connection between their personalities, and the personality of TFG. So deprived, so trodden upon, so unfair, so rigged, these poor people have never had a fair shake in their life, amiright?

(432 posts)Donald lives "The American Dream" beyond most people's wildest imagination - so why are he and his cult followers so angry and miserable?
Mary Trump gave us the answer in her first book - and here is my synopsis...
Donald was raised by emotionally stunted, and sometimes absent or cruel parents, and so he never got the emotional validation and acceptance that human beings need to feel whole. So Donald keeps pushing the "money, power and control" button in hopes to fill that hole in his psyche. But it's like that song, "You've got 10,000 forks, when all you need is a knife."
The common thread in Donald's Cult is a mass *emotional* deprivation. In a way, the Cult appears to fill that void - in the same way that a 12 step AA meeting brings people together with the shared pain of addiction. The difference is the Cult is totally unaware of their own personal emotional deprivation. And they never will, because it is too emotionally dangerous for them to face their own emotional abandonment issues.
So they will follow Donald's lead, in the mistaken belief it will fill the void that is so painful, that it's driving them to destroy people, institutions, and even society itself - much in the same way the drunk keeps drinking to fill that hole.

(4,021 posts)When they say they want their country back, they mean "we want to go back to the days where white privilege allowed us to treat minorities like shit"
Nothing scares a MAGAT more then the thought that white people will become a minority and be treated like they have been treating minorities for the past 400 year.

(432 posts)I've seen so many Trump stickers and flags on late model loaded up pickups & upper middle class homes.
Your explanation also doesn't explain Latinos and Blacks, where Trump received higher levels of support than did Romney, McCain.

Go down the mountains into the poor communities of all white bubbas and bubbetts, All MAGA everything AND they Hate Floridiots. They hate those rich folks buying up the mountain sides, and skyrocketing the property taxes for what the pay for land. The Floridiots despise the poor white illiterate trash. But put on a trump rally. All BFFs. Strange bed fellows, just to own the libs. Can I longer own slaves so .

The mistake people make is trying to lump these people together into some neat easily identifiable category, such as race, or some economic insecurity.

(48,773 posts)I said NOTHING about the economic station of these people. Your bias is to view it through that kind of lens and then imagine that everyone else is using the same lens, even as you claim you are defending the tRumplickers against bias.
I did NOT say they were poor or couldn't afford late model pickups.
I explicitly referred to "top jobs". I was thinking Obama, and also had in mind management jobs, executive jobs which are being opened up to greater numbers of people that the White Privileged fear.
A jump from 3% to 5% among Latinos and Blacks, (don't have specific percentages), is not significant and is swamped by statistical noise.
Read. What I did say is that the competition is getting hotter. There is competition at all economic levels. Sure, they got to a certain station in life but they depended on privilege to get there, even if they don't realize it. They can probably continue to maintain their current position, but advancement may be slower as more women and non-whites advance.
It is this feeling of privilege slipping away that is affecting them emotionally.

Bernardo de La Paz
(48,773 posts)Yes, you think every anti-tRumper thinks they are poor and illiterate. That's your bias that you think anti-tRumpers are biased that way. Your "fact" was a synopsis of a psychological analysis of tRump. You gave no facts about his supporters.
I endorsed that analysis of tRump by Mary Trump and wrote about the feelings of his supporters and their emotional needs. You say the cult is unaware of their own emotional deprivation and that is what I wrote to, explaining in terms of competition.
You misread that as claiming they were poor and economically deprived. That's your misreading because you are expecting it from all anti-tRumpers.
Widen your lens and read more carefully what posters write.
