70% of Arizona's Democratic primary voters disapprove of Sen. Kyrsten Sinema: poll

Source: Business Insider

Democratic Sen. Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona may be in political trouble, according to a new poll from Data for Progress , a progressive research firm that advocates for liberal policies.

The poll found that 70% of potential Arizona Democratic primary voters - made up of both registered Democrats and independents - disapprove of the work Sinema is doing as a senator. The first-term lawmaker has refused to back the $3.5 trillion social spending bill essential to President Joe Biden's agenda for reasons that remain unclear.

Furthermore, the poll found Sinema losing overwhelmingly to four potential Democratic challengers, including Reps. Ruben Gallego and Greg Stanton, Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, and Tucson Mayor Regina Romero. Sinema, who won the Senate seat in 2019, will face a Democratic primary in 2024 if she runs for re-election.

In head-to-head matchups with each candidate, Sinema hovers around 25% support among voters

Gallego, Hobbs, Hoffman. And all show great potential for advancing to higher office.

WTF?

As a DINO, she might as well change parties to the anti-democracy illiberal side.

She seems to intend to honor the nation fuckery she was seems to have been paid for and obviously doesn't care one iota about the country or it's working class or Democratic ideals. She takes McTurtles calls but not Schumers - nuff said.

1. She doesn't care about reelection.

2. She cares but either thinks she can weather this by 24 or is simply mistaking the lay of the political landscape.

3. She cares and realizes she has to adjust at least a little bit to get back some voters.

For her to misjudge the mood of her political colleagues and voters is astounding.

She seems to have some history along these lines. She made some serious allegations about how she was raised by her parents.
Her parents went to court to dispute her claims.

Democratic primary and she may have internal polls showing her doing better with independents. The poll quoted in the OP only polled Democrats.

Polling includes independents who lean democratic.

None of it suggests she's on path to win a primary.

I get that Dems are only a third of voters in AZ but at worst they are half of all voters in a Dem primary, if not likely more, and unless you just absolutely win independents by massive amounts you can't win a primary with those numbers, you just can't.

If she believes otherwise it's borderline delusional.

it is unfortunate that the media and dem politicians and analysts don't know that and can't communicate to them they are committing political suicide. without limbaugh their second party will be sucking wind for a long time - they no longer have a massive centralized messaging advantage without limbaugh, creating those made-to-order constituencies. and he won't be there to make excuses for them and praise their maverickiness

independents will be eligible to vote in the primary and this poll does not take them into account. I would like to see a poll of likely Democratic primary voters. That would give us a more accurate indication of where she really stands. Plus 2024 is a long ways off. Polls taken this early can be very iffy.
