LAS VEGAS (KLAS) Clark County Commissioners approved plans Wednesday to move ahead with an expanded underground transportation system that will be under the Las Vegas Strip and connect to Allegiant Stadium and UNLV.
Expanding and moving forward with plans for the "Vegas Loop." #ClarkCounty Commissioners just approved an agreement with the @boringcompany to establish and maintain a transportation system that will go under the Las Vegas Strip. It will also go to @AllegiantStadm and @UNLV. pic.twitter.com/2ju3xcFq7O

The companys plan is to expand the Vegas Loop to 29 miles. It would have 51 stops along the Las Vegas Strip corridor, including downtown, Allegiant stadium, and the airport.
The company says visitors and locals will be able to use the system. No tax dollars will be used. The agreement is that the Boring Company will fund the tunnels and hotels will pay for the construction of their own stations.

Anything that gets vehicles off roads helps. The original Boring Company imagery foresees driverless multi-passenger shuttles. I expect this will happen once the system is fully operational rather than using only Teslas.

(5,719 posts)Despite his shitty labor relations history, Musk seems pretty adept at attracting the right people to move his companies forward. He's focused on electric vehicles, solar, internet to under served regions around the globe, reusable rockets, and now mass transit systems. I don't understand all the hate his name engenders.
