The Marianne Bomb Goes Off?

Newt Gingrich's second wife (out of three) has long maintained that she has the power to end his campaign with a single interview. Leaking out on the Drudge Report in drips and drabs tonight are indications that Marianne may well have given that interview to ABC News, which is reported to be conducting an internal debate on whether to air it before Saturday's South Carolina primary.

Or so I've heard. I doubt the 2nd Mrs G has such an earth shattering revelation that hasn't been heard or said a 1,000 times before. And I think those kinds of interviews - amazingly enough - generate sympathy for the targeted ex-spouse. As I recall when Corzine was running for governor, his ex-wife made some political ads for his opponent and Corzine won by a much larger than expected number.

Let Gingrich gain some ground on Mittens, maybe gain some more endorsements, and then drop the bomb.

let him puff himself up more (more than his already overly inflated ego has...if that is even possible lol) and then drop the bomb.

..ABC News to air interview with Gingrich ex-wife
By DAVID BAUDER | Associated Press – 19 mins ago..

NEW YORK (AP) — ABC News plans to air an interview with the second wife of Republican presidential contender Newt Gingrich on "Nightline" just two days before the GOP's South Carolina primary.

Excerpts from the interview with Marianne Gingrich will be released during the day Thursday, ABC News spokesman Jeffrey Schneider said, ahead of both a Republican candidate debate Thursday evening in Charleston, S.C., and ABC's late-night news program.

ABC News has not indicated what Marianne Gingrich said in the interview. Her ex-husband has said that they don't have a relationship.

The interview comes as Gingrich, the former House speaker, is trying to topple GOP front-runner Mitt Romney by casting himself as the more conservative option in the GOP presidential race. It would shine a spotlight on a part of Gingrich's past that could turn off Republican voters in a state filled with religious and cultural conservatives who may cringe at Gingrich's two divorces and acknowledged infidelities.

Jackie, the first wife he divorced when she had cancer. Newt was 16 and she was his 25 y.o. teacher, he later married her.
Marianne also relates Newt's
campaign staff called him "a sociopath, but he's our sociopath".

Don't do him in, I doubt this will either. Unless he's caught in bed with a dead boy, the Repukes still support him. He rings their bells, and blows their whistles.
Maybe ABC is looking for a pay out from Newt.
