The Los Angeles Rams seem to be trying to avoid another 49ers Faithful takeover at SoFi Stadium for Sunday's NFC Championship Game, as tackle Andrew Whitworth's wife implored Rams fans to avoid selling tickets to 49ers fans. Niners franchise icons Joe Staley and Frank Gore have offered to lend their hand to making sure as many 49ers fans as possible make it down to LA for a chance at a Super Bowl appearance.
A number of 49ers fans shared screenshots Sunday morning of the Rams' Ticketmaster site for NFC Championship Game, that appeared to say tickets only would be sold to local residents.
Considering the sizable number of 49ers fans in attendance at SoFi Stadium for the last meeting between these teams in Week 18 forced the Rams to go to a silent count, LA might be hoping to avoid another sea of red-and-gold-clad fans invading their home building.

(2,076 posts)Is pre planned hand or body signals instead of vocal due to overly loud crowd noise. Part of the game and home field advantage

(182,585 posts)Generally he and the center have a way of knowing when the QB wants the snap. Everyone else just watched for the ball to start moving and then they know the play has started.

In this case, its an indication that the Rams do not have a rabid home city fanbase.

(7,765 posts)...that the team has to revert to hand signals and silent timing to start the play instead of the usual method of the quarterback yelling the snap count at the line of scrimmage.
It is usually the visiting team that must resort to this technique as the home crowd is trying to disrupt the play timing and the ability for the quarterback to call audibles to give the home team an advantage.

(7,765 posts)...Frank Gore could be signed by the 9ers and retired the next day so he can say he began and ended his career as a 49er.
He is truly loved by the fan base here as not only a fantastic football player, but as one of the greatest, hardest working, unselfish team members in team history. Jim Harbaugh, not known to hand out gratuitous compliments once described him as a football genius.
This just cements his legacy among 49ers fans.

I love both the Raiders and the 49ers. Just like I follow both the A's and the Giants.
I wish the Raiders never left Oakland.

(9,895 posts)However, Fuck the Rams...until Enos Stanley Kroenke is cold and stiff (or dead broke and forced to sell in shame) I hate them forever!!!
They lied to the people of St. Louis, defrauded season ticket holders and then paid hush money to keep the books hidden (making a goddamn windfall for the lawyers, a happy NFL owners group and the little guy/fans once again got squat excpet for the ignominy of being charater assassinated by a billionaire owner as he schortched the earth behid him on the way out of town).
I hope the "LA" Rams NEVER fully acquire a home-field advanatage and that they - like the Raiders and Chargers - always find a home stadium with as many or more people rooting for the opposing side.
Die Kroenke, CHOKING ON BILE YOU BASTARD!

They then swapped franchises with the owner of the Celtics, allowing each owner to take full depreciation allowances.
The NBA would never allow the Celtics to leave Boston, but approved the move of its former owners new Braves franchise to San Diego by a vote of 21-1. The owners of the NFL Rams (Carroll Rosenbloom) and WFT (Bob Irsay) also swapped franchises before Congress closed that 1970s tax dodge.

(33,643 posts)That didn't happen in Oakland, nor is it happening in Las Vegas (at least not often ... tho teams like the Pack, Cowboys and Steelers travel well everywhere).

at premium prices and the Bay Area has fans that can afford those premium prices.
