Trump, Jr. winds up in felony poaching scandal in Utah after killing a bear baited with pastries
Source: Raw Story
Second-generation New York real estate heir Donald Trump, Jr. is caught up in yet another hunting scandal. Utah hunting guide Wade Lemon is facing five years in prison for baiting a bear that was killed by Trump, Jr. on May 18, 2018, The Salt Lake Tribune reported Saturday. But the New York developer may not have been familiar enough with western hunting to know about the felony poaching. "Trump Jr. is not named in a recent filing against Lemon, but the DNR confirmed his identity as the person named in the felony complaint as Lemon’s “client” on the hunt. Prosecutors have indicated there was no evidence showing Trump Jr. would have known about the alleged baiting that went on during the hunt," the newspaper reported. "Without naming Trump Jr., Davis County Attorney Troy Rawlings said the hunter in the case 'was actually a victim and a now a possible witness in a fraudulent scheme to lead the hunter to believe it was actually a legitimate Wild West hunting situation.'". . . Read more: https://www.rawstory.com/trump-jr-hunting-poacher Whether he was "aware" or not, he has slaughtered enough animals and lines of cocaine to disqualify himself from the human race.

That guy told me there are no big game cats etc to hunt in Africa. They raise them and then turn them loose in a fenced area for these rich pricks to come shoot for $50,000 - 100,000 grand. The whole thing is slaughter, not hunting. How can you take pride in hunting when my 12 year old grandson could do it.

BTW kill a female bear in the spring you kill her cubs too. I have hunted, fished, camped, and done outdoor "stuff" for years but to kill a bear over bait sucks. Bear baiting is legal in Utah. It’s also the hardest state to do it in.
I read the regulation, and there are very few violations of it that WOULDN’T open Don Don up to criminal liability. On the other hand, if Worthless Fuck would have come to Idaho…no problem. About the only rule is that you can’t bait with pieces of game animals. |

63. In Utah they only allow it on controlled hunts
To go on a controlled hunt you have to apply in advance and be drawn in a lottery. Why he didn't come to Idaho is the mystery of our time - here you can bait bears all you want. You can also set out salt licks for deer and elk so long as you don't hunt within 100 feet of the salt lick.

58. I have a very strict view on hunting.
Wealthy people should not be hunting, they have no need to. My brother in law, is close to poverty's door, he hunts elk every year as its their main protein intake for the year. He only hunts what is the legal amount and reports anyone he suspects of poaching or taking more than they should. He doesn't want it ruined for himself due to some assholes. Of course if we had more equitable wages, he wouldn't have to hunt and he would be ok with that.
He also doesn't believe anyone should own a semi-auto. As for myself, when we visit, I enjoy the gift of elk when he gives it to me. But I make enough so I don't have any need to hunt. Not that I would want to anyway, taking a life never sits well with me. |

On behalf of my Adirondack relatives, who would never read D.U, but who hunt, fish and trap and have for generations, and look at me as being somewhat defective because I don't, they would consider Don Jr. as the biggest p.o.s in the woods if he tried this stuff around them. Take it from me, they take their wildlife seriously, and don't kill for the sake of killing. They eat what they kill. Who the fuck kills a bear and why?

61. On the other hand: Teddy Roosevelt and the Story of the Teddy Bear
https://www.nps.gov/thrb/learn/historyculture/storyofteddybear.htm
Did you know that the Teddy Bear was invented in honor of President Theodore Roosevelt? It all began when Theodore Roosevelt was on a bear hunting trip near Onward, Mississippi on November 14, 1902. Mississippi's Governor Andrew H. Longino had invited him, but unlike other hunters in the group, Theodore had not located a single bear. Roosevelt's assistants, led by Holt Collier, a born slave and former Confederate cavalryman, cornered and tied a black bear to a willow tree. They summoned Roosevelt and suggested that he shoot it. Viewing this as extremely unsportsmanlike, Roosevelt refused to shoot the bear. The news of this event spread quickly through newspaper articles across the country. The articles recounted the story of the president who refused to shoot a bear. However, it was not just any president, it was Theodore Roosevelt the big game hunter! Clifford Berryman, a political cartoonist, read the article and decided to lightheartedly satirize the president's refusal to shoot the bear. Berryman's cartoon appeared in the Washington Post on November 16, 1902. Morris Michtom, a Brooklyn candy shop owner, saw the cartoon and had an idea. He and his wife Rose also made stuffed animals, and Michtom decided to create a stuffed toy bear and dedicate it to the president who refused to shoot a bear. He called it 'Teddy's Bear'. After receiving Roosevelt's permission to use his name, Michtom mass produced the toy bears which were so popular that he soon founded the Ideal Toy Company. To this day the Teddy Bear has worldwide popularity and its origin can be traced back to Theodore's fateful hunting trip in 1902. |

we can put a line of them across the Bering Sea and bait Donald Sr to permanently move to his best friend Vlad's house.

73. What should a hunter do to ensure legal hunting?
this is Texas state and federal laws regard baiting of birds.
What should a hunter do to ensure legal hunting? Become familiar with state and federal migratory game bird hunting regulations. Ask the landowner, hunting outfitter, or other responsible party, if the area has been baited. Watch for unusual waterfowl behavior that may indicate baiting, even if you cannot see bait from your location. Watch for bait and for signs of field manipulation unrelated to a normal grain harvest. This includes bait scattered in a moist soils management unit or wetland. These may appear to be naturally scattered, but could be baited. Familiarize yourself with the normal agricultural practices for your hunting area. Stop hunting immediately if you suspect or find evidence that you are hunting over bait. Before you go hunting, you should know the law—state and federal. Familiarize yourself with what constitutes baiting as well as other prohibited practices. For example, “herding” waterfowl by using watercraft or other vehicles to drive them towards hunters is expressly forbidden. As with baiting, both outfitters and hunters may be subject to penalties at law enforcement discretion. If you have some doubt regarding any given practice, check with your local Texas Parks and Wildlife game warden or US Fish & Wildlife Service law enforcement personnel. https://agrilifeextension.tamu.edu/library/wildlife-nature-environment/restrictions-on-waterfowl-hunting-and-baiting/ |

85. This sounds like when Dick Cheney went quail "hunting."
Shooting captive (or was it clipped?) birds that were simply released into the bush. Apparently, it's so unchallenging that he had to shoot his friend in the face to feel some excitement.

And they're going to have to call him as a witness in the case against the guide.

The wealthy don't need to follow the rules. Wade Lemon will do his time (unless a republican judge lets him off) and Jr. will continue to float through the world without a care.
