Christine Drazan concedes to Tina Kotek in Oregon governor's race
Source: The Oregonian Republican Christine Drazan has conceded to Democrat Tina Kotek in Oregon’s race for governor. Drazan’s concession comes two days after The Oregonian/OregonLive called the governor’s race for Kotek on Wednesday morning. In results tallied as of 3 p.m. Friday, Drazan trailed Kotek by 64,259 votes, at 47.1% to 43.4%. Kotek’s lead widened considerably Thursday after Multnomah County, Oregon’s largest and bluest county, finished tabulating results from ballots received through Wednesday. Drazan, the former state House Republican leader, said Friday that she had spoken to Kotek, the former longtime Democratic speaker of the House, and wished her and the state only the best. 3. Close call
Republicans recruited a former dem to run 3rd party and split the left leaning vote. It almost worked. Thankfully most voters came to their senses.

4. This was a big deal for Oregon..
Tina Kotek has been a rock star in the Oregon Legislature for 15 years. Drazan is another cookie out of the Trump cult cookie cutter, and would have been a disaster for Oregon.

13. I had no idea who she was
Since we have only lived here 5 years in southern Oregon. Voted for her though. My city had a ton of Betsy signs. I was getting worried. I love living in a blue coast, I drive to CA and WA a lot and its like freedom up and down!

14. K Falls, Medford, Grants Pass, the Rogue River..
I'm based in the Portland area, but love southern Oregon, especially highway 101. Planning a road trip down there as soon as possible.

15. In Medford
I love it here and Ashland is only 20 min drive. My court was 3 houses dem 3 repub but after some neighbors moved it might be down to only 1 republican. And he's a nice mellow older guy who lives alone.
That's pretty lucky since its a conservative city. |

10. Hmmm.
“Stay in the fight. She did not win the majority of the votes.” Those were my takeaways from her “concession speech.” She didn’t refuse to concede but make no mistake - as governor she would have green-lighted every horrible idea that the worst of the Republican brain can conjure.

12. It was a concession, not a capitulation.
Do listen to the entire speech.
