Former President Donald Trump on Monday shared a threat made in a social media post by a former top official in his administration, who wrote that people who framed Trump ... will pay.
Trump reposted the Truth Social post by Monica Crowley at the same time his attorney was arguing to a federal appeals court in Washington, D.C., that he should not be subject to a gag order in his criminal election interference case there.
That case is just one of four criminal cases pending against Trump as he continues to be the front-runner in the 2024 Republican presidential nomination contest.
Crowleys post referenced those cases as she also argued that the riot by Trump supporters at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, had been falsely characterized by media and a select House committee that investigated that attempt to prevent Congress from certifying President Joe Bidens electoral victory...........................................................

(10,475 posts)had been a young man during WWII. As we talked he began to open up.
Forty years after the war, he still believed that, at his core, Hitler was a decent man, and that it was all of the people around him who pushed him into invading other countries and committing genocide.
This is the same kind of personality cultists we are dealing with in Donald Trump's case. There is no reasoning with them, and no amount of demonstrable evidence will dissuade them from believing that Trump is their authoritarian savior.
This is why, he must be convicted and never released from prison.

(2,782 posts)the only German I have ever known who remembers the nazi years was an english teacher I had in high school in the 1980s. he had been in the hitler youth and was lucky to have been from a small village where the kids weren't forced to fight in the final days. he said he can remember old women getting so emotional they would cry when listening to hitler on the radio. he also said he heard a lot of exactly what the bartender told you from those same women after the war. they weren't unrepentant nazis, they thought the nazis did some bad shit (they believed the Holocaust happened but here was no way AH knew about it or he would have stopped it) they would say. the guy grew up to be a real liberal/lefty (liberal dem. once he became an american.) though, as a high school english teacher who learned english as a second language, he was quite the grammar nazi.

(1,443 posts)For me, "framed" implies that someone made up something nefarious about you and claimed it to be true.
Here we have a defendant, previously multiply-convicted of crimes and more recently multiply-indicted for even more serious crimes that are in the public record.
Not that "reasoning" or contact with the real world is something most of these kooks will ever ascend to anyway.
