'She's delusional': Kari Lake asks AZ Supreme Court to declare her state governor despite election loss

In a last-ditch effort to make herself the head of Arizonas executive branch, election-denier Kari Lake this week asked the states highest court to reverse the 2022 election and declare that she, not Katie Hobbs, is the lawful governor of the Grand Canyon State. Lake, who lost the 2022 election by some 17,000 votes but continuously claims to be the lawful governor of Arizona, on Friday filed a petition with the Arizona Supreme Court to overturn lower court rulings and allow her to present new evidence that Maricopa County improperly ran its election.
The basis of Lakes incredibly long-shot claim is that the county allegedly failed to conduct required logic and accuracy testing on its vote tabulators. Thus, Maricopa testified falsely and argued misleadingly about its violations of election law throughout this litigation, the suit states.
If Maricopa had properly conducted L & testing as it falsely testified it had, the testing would have identified and thus prevented the 2022 Election Day chaos. The crux of Lakes purported new evidence relies on claims from a cyber expert named Clay Parikh, who is also an adamant proponent of the false claim that the 2020 election was not valid.
She requested that the court order another election or jettison more than 275,000 early ballots in Maricopa County, which she claims could not have had their signatures verified in accordance with state law. The Court could either set aside the election or proportionally strike 275,000 ballots, the petition states. Because Hobbs eclipsed Lake by more than 10% of Maricopas early voting, under (Grounds v. Lawe), Lake would win.

Maybe Lake thinks that looking pretty on camera is sufficient proof that she should be governor. I think that she's carved out of the same turd as Trump, and thinks that relentless pursuit of a irretrievably lost cause will somehow alter reality and she can take her rightful place as queen of the loonies.
I think Goebbels said something to the effect of, telling a bald-faced lie often enough makes it true in the minds of the mindless.
Lake will be wearing blown out sneakers on the wrong feet, pushing a shopping cart full of her treasures, and screaming. "I WON!" at lampposts before long.

(4,374 posts)Ask the judge to just throw out the election because she didn't win. She's done this before and been told to sit down. She and her lawyers have even been fined because of it, if I remember correctly. But she's a true Trump prodigy. Just keep on suing until someone gets so tired of her they give her what she wants just so she goes away. I hope she not only loses this, but gets a good monetary judgement against her from the judge, and then loses anything she ever tries to run for again. Maybe if she loses enough, she'll understand the people are just not into her!

I guess that even she doesn't believe that she won the gubernatorial race.

Most republicans do that before the election.
