Norm Coleman Rules Out Senate Bid In 2014

Source: TPM

DAVID TAINTOR 10:00 AM EST, WEDNESDAY JANUARY 9, 2013

Former Sen. Norm Colenman (R-MN) ruled out another bid for Senate in 2014, in an interview with National Journal.

The former senator, who narrowly lost to Al Franken in 2008, said Franken's low profile has boded well for Franken.

"He's been pretty much invisible," Coleman told National Journal. "In that sense he hasn't created a lot of enemies. I don't know if that's his strategy, but it's a pretty good strategy if it is.”

He got into the senate on pure bad luck and he knows it. That kind of luck doesn't come around again.

Pimp some bogus scandal like the Oil for Food investigation? If you want to talk invisible, lets look at how many times Coleman appeared in public in Mn. when he was Senator.

He won reelection by the widest margin of any Republican Congressperson in the state.

He feels that his job is to represent the people of his state, not hog the media limelight. He's particularly sensitive to this because he was an entertainer/pundit before running for office.

I think more politicians should adopt this stance and actually work for a living rather than blow smoke half the time.

It took forever for Senator Franken to be seated.
