Assault Charge Filed Against Sen. Rand Paul's Son

Source: WBKO

A new charge has been filed against Senator Rand Paul's 19-year-old son William Paul.

WCNC in Charlotte, North Carolina reports that Mecklenburg County Sheriff's office said Paul has a new charge, assault on a female by aggressive physical force, a misdemeanor.

William Paul was arrested last Saturday at Charlotte Douglas International Airport on alcohol related charges including consuming beer/wine underage.

It is not clear if the two incidents are related.

I would think that would be a felony. Interfering with a member of a flight crew is serious stuff.

Pretty sure if he had a different name the charges would be more serious.

I guess Aqua Buddha must have divinely intervened and dropped it down to a misdemeanor.

Here's what happens when an ordinary asshole hands a flight attendant a card asking "What if the plane ripped apart..?" after she would not let him place his bag beneath his seat (mind you he did not assault her):

Man on Hawaiian flight to be charged with felony

Portland, Ore. – A 56-year-old Salem man, whose behavior on Hawaiian Airlines Flight 39 caused it to return to Portland International Airport, will be charged with a felony, said acting U.S. Attorney Kent Robinson on Friday.

Joseph H. Johnson will be charged with ""interference with a flight crew" which holds a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, Robinson said.

Nothing wrong there. Coming from the same state that didn't outlaw marital rape until 1993. I guess that's improvement.

funnier than the apple analogy which I just tweeted.

That entire family really makes me nauseous. I had a "discussion" with an online friend awhile ago who is a hard core Ron Paul supporter. He tried to convince me that Rand wasn't named for the author. He said just check out Senior Paul's page - his official name is Randall. Have you ever known anyone you thought was intelligent but their true self happened to emerge? I seriously was stunned - and saddened. After the third or fourth diatribe about PBO and drones, I had to cut him off.

I wonder how in the world couples with different political persuasions (ala Carville and Maitlan) make it? I certainly couldn't. But then, Carville is an odd one. A very odd one.

nowhere in the Constitution does it say that a 19-year-old cannot get drunk and assault a flight attendant.
