Aide to Egyptian President Morsi Says Holocaust Was a Hoax by the U.S.

Last edited Tue Jan 29, 2013, 05:05 PM - Edit history (1)

Source: Cleveland Leader

An important figure in Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi's administration has called the Holocaust a hoax put together U.S. intelligence operatives, and claims that the 6 million Jews who were killed by Nazis simply moved to the United States.

These outlandish claims were made by Fathi Shihab-Eddim, a senior figure close to Morsi who is charged with appointing the editors of all state-run Egyptian newspapers. He made these remarks as the world marked Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27, and as the U.S. continues to figure out its relationship with the increasingly radical nation.

Shihab-Eddim said:

“The myth of the Holocaust is an industry that America invented. U.S. intelligence agencies in cooperation with their counterparts in allied nations during World War II created it [the Holocaust] to destroy the image of their opponents in Germany, and to justify war and massive destruction against military and civilian facilities of the Axis powers, and especially to hit Hiroshima and Nagasaki with the atomic bomb.”

They should keep changing governments until they get one that can do it right. One good start would be not to keep strict control of the Press by "appointing the editors of all state-run Egyptian newspapers" in order to control what people think.

Usually, you end up with someone just as bad if not worse than the previous leader.

The American Revolution may not be the sole exception to that scenario but it's part of a pretty small club.

Morgan Al-Gohary, a jihadi sheikh with a history of radicalism, appeared on the private Egyptian TV channel Dream TV 2 Saturday evening and declared that if he and his ilk ever came to power, they would not hesitate to destroy the Sphinx and the pyramids.

He's no stranger to the notion of vandalizing ancient artifacts, boasting to the show's host, Wael Al-Abrashi, that while in Afghanistan, he took part along with the Taliban in the demolition of the Bamyan Buddhas in March 2001.

Just as bad as Libya and Syria. Complete debacle.

I can't believe we got the Russians to fake their discovery of the death camps in Poland and elsewhere. Just to throw everyone off the case, we then had a faux-"Cold War" that almost ended all human earth on life, as recently as the 90s!

We're tied into what seems like every peculiar event that occurs in that region.

Morsi and the Brotherhood are theocratic ass hats (and anti-Semitic ass hats to boot). This aide is likely expressing Morsi's own beliefs, which sadly probably aren't that far off from what Ahmedinijad believes. The crazy thing is the Salafists are even crazier, if that's at all possible. We need to tell Egypt (and Israel for that matter) that as long as we're in a fiscal crisis our old policy of sending billions in military aid is over. The Egyptian people have to decide for themselves what sort of government they want, and if they want a theocracy that impedes the rights of women and minorities, we need to tell them to fuck off. I'm sick of money going to these countries using MINE and YOUR tax dollars. I don't bust my ass off 50 hours a week to send a chunk to Morsi and Netanyahu. Fuck them.

Instead the President announces $150 million in aid to Syria, money which will be undoubtedly funneled to corrupt warlords, Jihadists, or into the pocket of Assad himself. It won't reach any starving person and in the end they'll still hate the US.

Agreed.

Also agree that Holocaust denial is common in the Mideast , as someone said above.
But I don't think this guy necessarily believes in it. It's a workable inflammatory phrase to play to the fundamentalist crowd.
Punish the bastard for it. Yank his funding.
