1/26/2012 NBC/WSJ poll: Gingrich leads Romney, but badly trails Obama

Gingrich weakest against Obama
Romney fares best against the president, trailing Obama by six points among registered voters, 49 percent to 43 percent. That’s a four-point improvement for the president from a month ago.

Obama, however, beats Gingrich by a whopping 18 points, 55-37 percent, expanding the president’s 11-point lead a month ago.

Santorum also loses to Obama, but by a narrower margin, 53-38 percent, than Gingrich.

“More than his mojo, he’s getting back the middle of the electorate,” Hart said. But Hart warns, whether it’s the Republican race or the uptick in Obama’s ratings and standing, “I look at these results, and they have all the permanence of skywriting -- looks bold, but disappears in seconds.”

Obama, however, is still below 40 percent approval with white voters, and McInturff points out that number and the direction of the country still would indicate "The incumbent president is going to have a difficult re-election. Many of these are still problematic numbers -- as improved as they are."

Gingrich’s problems – women, independents, ‘personal standards’
Gingrich particularly struggles with women and independents. Women say they would vote for Obama over Gingrich by a wide 60-31 percent gap, far wider than the 54-38 percent difference by which Obama beats Romney.

With independents, Gingrich gets just 28 percent against Obama, who wins with 52 percent. By contrast, Obama narrowly edges Romney with independents, 44 percent to 36 percent.

He'd probably go, "Dude, Newt, you're too much. Even for me."

My religion claims that "death absolves all sin" and that punishment for your sins will come in this life time before your death. I like that idea better. I'd like Newt to get his due in this lifetime, not the next.

44 percent to 36 percent. "

How is an 8-point difference "narrow"?

I could see if it were 44 - 43 or maybe even 44 - 41. But 44 - 36?

as well as the center-right NBC. Were it the other way around, I'm pretty sure "blow-out" would've been mentioned.

They are trying to make this seem like a problem for Obama.

Gingrich Is not going to win the nomination.Romney could beat Gingrich In florida by Double digets.

As a White Democrat I am a minority among white people. The act he Is under 40 percent approvol with white voters Isn't newsworthy.
Back In 2000 Al Gore won the popular vote due to strong support of blacks,Hispanics, and Asians. It's been years since a democrat has
won the white vote.More and more white voters voting for democrats are minoritys.

Obama beats Romney 49 to 43 Is Important.Look at polls overall and you will see a sign.Obama Is opening up a 5,or 6 point lead
over Romney. The primarys have been great for Obama!

Obama now has a lead of 44 to 36 percent over Romney with Independents.Remember all the talk of his problem with the group?

I saw a poll at Political wire that says Obama Is opening up a lead In Florida over Romney because Independents there are moving
towards him.

The real winner of the primary fight between Romney and Gingrich, and debates Is turning out to be Obama.

It's only delightfully perverted to giggle about him getting the nomination when he's ahead in the polls. The more he gets rejected by the GOP, the more he turns from amusing back to pathetic. It was fun for a while, but now the Republicans are boring me again.

I need a new diversion.
