Trump: Rove ‘The Most Over-rated Man in Politics’

Source: Newsmax

Donald Trump has slammed Karl Rove as “the most over-rated person in politics” claiming the Republican strategist’s attack ads on actress Ashley Judd have increased her chances of winning a senate seat.

“This is the same mind that spent $400 million and didn’t win a race. He’s the most overrated person in politics,” Trump said during a press conference following his Friday morning speech at CPAC 2013.

Judd is widely expected to launch a bid for the Democratic nomination for the senate seat in Kentucky where she would take on Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in 2014 if she was successful.

“I like Mitch McConnell and think what Karl Rove did to him was a disaster. Karl Rove has actually made her (seem) beautiful and make people think she is great,” Trump said.

I have absolutely no problem if they choose to have a big argument over who is more irrelevant.

Someday Donald Trump will blurt something - wise or idiotic - and no one will give a damn.

No one will report it, no one will care.

One can always dream.

Sigh.

Both Trump and Rove are perfect examples of egos run amok. Trump had his life handed to him on a silver platter, but doesn't realize that he was born on third base. Give Rove credit for being the unattractive nerd with brains enough to figure out all the unsavory paths to power. You can't fault him for realizing his political talents and using them. You can fault him for being an
immoral (or amoral, to be kind) jerk, most craving his own power.

... just to watch him squirming, trying not to be a total insult-hurling, bitter, crusty, holier-than-though mumbler. She is the perfect foil for him.

Rove's been spun as some political ubermensch of unspeakable prowess and nigh-limitless influence, the sort of person who makes Machiavelli look like Peter Griffin. There's people around here who even now seem convinced he's behind every other domestic political event and nearly all of the international ones.

If the guy had a fraction of the political and diplomatic acumen people ascribe to him, we'd be in the middle of Bush's fourth term as president right now.

I'd certainly say Trump's more irrelevant, but I'd also say Rove is more overrated.

An April 2005 Frontline documentary about Rove contended that Bush's 2004 election win was the crowning achievement in a 30-year plan that Rove had devised to make the Republican Party the permanent majority party in the United States.
