Anonymous hacks into phone call between FBI and Scotland Yard

Hackers from the Anonymous group have hacked into a private conference call between the FBI and Scotland Yard, accessing details of a major international cybercrime investigation, the FBI has confirmed.

The FBI and Scotland Yard confirmed that the security of the call – between the FBI, the Yard, and, it is understood, someone from MI5 – had been breached.

Investigators can be heard discussing their joint inquiry into a cybercrime case which is going through the British courts, and is linked to investigations in New York and Baltimore and in Ireland.

When Rupert Murdoch and his little minions were tapping in on everyone's phone calls, there was an undercurrent of "Oh, those pranksters!" to quite a bit of it. Monkeying with the murder victim's voice mail box was one of the very few glaring exceptions. I reckon that hacking this call will be taken far more seriously, and it's difficult to imagine a scenario where the Murdoch fortune doesn't figure prominently for why one case is shrugged off and another becomes a horrible scandal whose perpetrators must be punished.

It's one thing for us peons to be watched, and quite another for us to watch the watchers when they don't want to be watched.
