Cumulus CEO hits Limbaugh while reporting $2.4 million revenue loss

Source: Politico

Cumulus Media today reported a $2.4 million first-quarter decline in revenue related to talk programming, a loss that CEO Lew Dickey attributed, indirectly, to Limbaugh's controversial remarks about Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke.

The earnings call came one day after POLITICO reported that Limbaugh was considering ending his affiliation agreement with Cumulus because he was frustrated with Dickey for blaming him for advertising losses.

Yet when asked about the Limbaugh on today's earnings call, Dickey again suggested that Limbaugh's remarks about Fluke played a significant role in the company's revenue decline.

"We've had a tough go of it the last year," Dickey said. "The facts are indisputable regarding the impact certain things have had on ad dollars."

And when Limbaugh leaves WABC in NY he'll slide right over to Clear Channel's WOR.

However, this is much ado about nothing. Cumulus will just plug Huckleberry into the Comedian's time slot. Life will go on as usual.

Take this opportunity to let your local stations know via email how much you are not enjoying the 'all politics all the time' formats. They may be particularly receptive to your email at this time. Make your opinion heard!

My station has Rush (3 freaking hours a day! UGH!) Hannity, that freaky-freak Levin and a local yahoo named Michael Barry (recently popped for a hit-and-run after drinking at a local gay bar- LOL!).

Let them know!

And all of this started because Rep. Issa was afraid to have her testify in front of his
committee and she had the nerve to stand up for herself and other women.

this is not a fight that the repugs or rush can ever win ..... Well,
as they say paybacks are a b***.

this all could be nothing more than a bullshit charade to create a "buzz controvercy" over nothing.
