A new Census report released Wednesday found that roughly 11 million Latinos cast votes in last year's election, amounting to an increase of 1.4 million voters from 2008.
Still, the report, titled The Diversifying Electorate Voting Rates by Race and Hispanic Origin in 2012 (and Other Recent Elections), showed that the rate of eligible Latino voters who participated in the election dipped from 49.9 percent in 2008 to 48 percent in 2012. Moreover, only 8.4 percent of the eligible Latino electorate participated in last year's election, even though the group comprises nearly 11 percent of the eligible electorate overall.
The report also found that there were 1.7 million more black voters in 2012 than in 2008.

(13,408 posts)There would certainly be fewer Republicans in both state houses and Congress. I'm not sure if Flake or Cruz would have lost but both races would have been much closer as would have the presidential races in those two states.

(5,287 posts)I know because I live with them and they have told me so. Just because I am a democrat it does not make me believe that it is a good ideal to have so many illegals voting in this country. It is not right nor fair and it breaks our rule of law. It is simply just wrong and none of us from either party should promote such illegal activities. It demeans us as a nation of laws and a nation without laws will in the end fail it's citizenship. We should be fair in all our actions so that we are always on the right side of an issue.
