David Cameron's (only black) working-class adviser 'pushed from No 10 by old Etonians'

Shaun Bailey lost job as adviser on youth, crime and race after exclusion by PM's privately educated colleagues, say friends
The prime minister's only black working-class adviser has been pushed out of 10 Downing Street following the promotion of Old Etonians and other former public school boys, his friends have claimed.
Shaun Bailey lost his job as a special adviser earlier this year and was moved to a part-time role in the Cabinet Office, according to a report in the Daily Telegraph. Bailey felt he was excluded by Cameron's advisers because he was "different" and asked demanding questions about what the government was doing. After four months of being excluded by Cameron's other advisers he was moved to what he saw as a "non-job" in the Cabinet Office.

Bailey told his friends that the PM's advisers had no interest in concerns about the cost of living or diversity and were heavily conditioned by a public school mindset.
Cameron has been accused of running an old boys' network at No 10 after he recently promoted several Old Etonians including Jo Johnson, the brother of the London mayor Boris Johnson, and Jesse Norman.

If anyone says they are surprised they're either lying or completely delusional....

(12,008 posts)The Tories are simply an Old Boys club which function firstly to advance their own wealth, power, and social standing. A secondary part of this is putting the poor in their place. The third thing is - unfortunately - to do the absolute minimum of governing in order to justify their ability to do the first two.

The prime minister's adviser on enterprise has told the cabinet that the economic downturn is an excellent time for new businesses to boost profits and grow because labour is cheap, the Observer can reveal.
Lord Young, a cabinet minister under the late Baroness Thatcher, who is the only aide with his own office in Downing Street, told ministers that the low wage levels in a recession made larger financial returns easier to achieve. His comments are contained in a report to be published this week, on which the cabinet was briefed last Tuesday.
Young, who has already been forced to resign from his position once before for downplaying the impact of the recession on people, writes: "The rise in the number of businesses in recent years shows that a recession can be an excellent time to start a business.
"Competitors who fall by the wayside enable well-run firms to expand and increase market share. Factors of production such as premises and labour can be cheaper and higher quality, meaning that return on investment can be greater."

Already had to resign once before (in 2010) but they love his advice so much they had to have him back.

If he was really, 100% genuinely & honestly convinced that he was being
employed by the Conservatives as anything other than a "token minority
staff member" to enable another tick on their Equal Opportunity & Diversity
checklist then he is far too stupid to employ for any other reason.
Maybe he can have a chat with Colin Powell?
