Bachmann Back At It: Congresswoman Calls 9/11 And Benghazi ‘Judgments’ From God

Source: Mediaite

Minnesota Congresswoman and former Republican presidential contender Michele Bachmann has been conspicuously silent since her nail-biter of a congressional re-election, but was back at her sound bite machine ways this week, calling 9/11 and the Benghazi consulate attacks “judgments from God.”

Bachmann spoke at a D.C. prayer event named “Washington: A Man of Prayer,” linking the tragedies of 9/11 and Benghazi to the hand of the almighty.

“It’s no secret that our nation may very well be experiencing the hand of judgment,” Bachmann espoused. “Our nation has seen judgment, not once but twice, on September 11th.” She went on tell the audience that there is no better way to spend 9/11 than to “humble ourselves” and “pray to an almighty God,” calling for a 9/11 prayer day.

This isn’t the first time Bachmann has used her political perch to share religious beliefs, as back in 2011, she surmised that Hurricane Irene and recent earthquakes were really an angry message from God warning, “Are you going to start listening to me here?”

Her "God damn America" moment

We can expect the GOP to give the same level of outrage to her as they did to Rev. Wright a week from never.

The separation of church and state is a phrase originally coined by Thomas Jefferson in a letter to the Baptist Association of Danbury, Connecticut. The church, according to their letter to Jefferson dated October 7, 1801, was concerned there would be a denominational church state. The Supreme Court of the United States in 1962 borrowed this phrase in their Court decision to make public school prayer unconstitutional. It was to establish a line between organized religion and the nation state.

Was also a judgment day from God? And that August 6, 1945 was another of God's judgment days?

God sure seems to have a lot of blood on his hands if that is the case. In fact, God is quite a monster using Bachmann's criteria.

Such proclamations are violating their oath of office and show they have no plan for governing. This is improper discussion, not about government policy and it is a waste of taxpayer dollars to support this preaching. My life long tolerance for this is being worn thin by these charlatans.

The American people need to know how high up this Benghazi thing goes. What did the All-knowing and All-seeing know, and when did He know it?

when Pat Robertson (iirc) and many other conservatives said something similar, they were not treated like Rev. Wright. Then I remembered "Oh, that's right! He's black!". Sadly, it seems to be just that simple.

observation of truth from the opposite spectrum. These events are judgments from Allah that the Muslim extremists are doing the right thing in the attacks on the USA. And the Islam world is seeing judgment to their favor. She needs to be impeached. She is just plain and simple, bat shit crazy. I am ashamed to be Minnesota born and bred (though no longer there). How someone if her ilk and people like Al Franken, Walter Mondale, Hubert Humphry, Gene McCarthy and Paul Wellstone can come from the beautiful land of a thousand lakes is beyond me. Some of the DNA that was to be her makeup missed its mark.

She is the face and voice of the Republican Party, otherwise known as the home of radical extremists bent on restoring the feudal system or slavery rooted in an edict from an imaginary sky hero.
The likes of Bachmann, et al, are not only amusing, but frighten the political center. There's only so much crazy you can energize before the majority takes notice of the insanity.
