North Miami mayoral candidate touts endorsement from Jesus Christ
Source: Local 10
Campaign posters for Anna L. Pierre tout that she was endorsed by Jesus Christ.
"It's a spiritual endorsement. Why? Because everything I do I always get God involved," Pierre said.
Pierre, a registered nurse and 90s Creole-language pop star, said she prayed leading up to registering for her candidacy and received three signs that Jesus was her endorser.

(14,337 posts)Pierre is a very common surname there; same as "our" Smith. She is then in all likelihood a Jehovah Witness. I worked in Florida schools. So many are ULTRA religious, and proselytize.

(53,031 posts)Which denomination of Christianity, I have no idea. I think the other poster is right about Jehovah's Witnesses. I think they are not even allowed to vote.

(14,337 posts)Large Haitian community here too, but when I worked on Long Island, there were many there also working with the developmentally disabled population. My comments are based solely on the Haitians I have worked with in NY and Florida. I do agree that those I have known were not political, but who knows?

(2,983 posts)Seriously. If Jesus was going to endorse a political candidate, in the first place, he would have to exist. In the second place, he would have to be capable of speech, in the third... oh screw it.
If I pray really hard, you think he might endorse me for emperor of Canada? I always wanted to rule Canada....

(5,029 posts)I do not believe the post was racial or biased. I have been to both Haiti and Miami, I live in FloriDUH. I am ex-navy and have extensive knowledge of the Caribbean and South America.
Miami is the epitome of Corporate America having indentured servants, the best of both worlds. Everyone thinks of South Beach, and thats what you see on TV. Where do these people come from and live that take care of the uber wealthy. From there own privately controlled Islands (Haiti) and South America. These to large to fail corporations purposely keep a tight grip on the countries that give birth to their private slaves.

Oh,, in that drawing you have---that certainly is not me. That's some white hippy dude with blondish hair.. I am NOT white and I DEFINITELY do not have blonde hair. And I would never, EVER be caught wearing a red robe. But that's another matter altogether.
