Michelle Nunn Senate Announcement Coming Soon
Source: Roll Call
After appearing at a weekend fundraiser for Senate Democrats, party leaders expect Michelle Nunn to make a final decision on the Georgia Senate race within weeks.
The national party is working with Michelle, and I think we will probably have an announcement relatively soon on whether shes in or not, Georgia Democratic Party Chairman Mike Berlon said Monday. We just want to get somebody out there early enough before the election that we can actually get behind them and start putting a structure together.
The philanthropist and daughter of former Sen. Sam Nunn, D-Ga., appeared at a Sunday fundraiser in Atlanta for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. President Barack Obama was the featured guest at the event, with DSCC Chairman Michael Bennet and Executive Director Guy Cecil also in attendance.
A DSCC spokesman declined to comment on whether Nunn was preparing to announce a bid.

Right now, I see us at risk in three seats: Alaska, Arkansas and South Dakota, with a chance of a pickup in Georgia.

(2,593 posts)2. Keep your fingers crossed that Berlon doesn't screw it up. Today's AJC
has this story:
Democratic Party Chair To Get Legal Reprimand.

Sorry for the lack of details. I refuse to subscribe to the AJC to get the full story.

...than her father was.

I tend to think we wll hold AK and AR but SD may not pan out for us.

AK will not want to give up his seniority. Pryor is conservative enough to make a case for a third term.
WV looks like a GOP pick-up, unless the Dem Sec of State runs (and the teabaggers put up a kook, which is looking more likely).

(71,265 posts)6. I agree! Always count on the GOP to nominate an idiot.

(19,348 posts)7. The teabaggers gave up 6 seats in the past two cycles.
They are on track to give up AT LEAST 1 winnable seat -> WV/NC/LA/AK/SD
...and/or throw away Maine(just as they threw away Indiana (Lugar) last year.
